The Role at a Glance
This position will serve as a key resource for data center operations and the management program framework based on the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) best practices, ensuring optimal standards for Lincoln’s owned and leased data center facilities. The successful candidate will oversee the proper and efficient planning of critical hardware installations within data centers, conduct capacity planning analyses, and generate reports on the utilization of horizontal and vertical space, power, and cooling resources. Additionally, they will forecast capacity growth to align with organizational needs and assess potential impacts on budget.
What you'll be doing
- Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
- Serves as a resource to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on more complex assignments/projects.
- Identifies and recommends process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality .
- Maintain asset listing of assets in Data Centers, Co-location facilities and other locations requiring the maintenance of network and compute resources (ITAM).
- Reports on the consumption of horizontal/vertical space; power and cooling against capacity.
- Produces and maintains data center and co-location documentation and reports that clearly articulate technical designs, issues and constraints, procedures, and network assessments.
- Designs and implements plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements.
- Collaborates effectively with appropriate internal and/or external stakeholders on issues and conflicts that impact time, cost, service, scope, and quality thru the management of the weekly Hardware Planning meeting for all DC/Colo facilities.
- Recommends, implements, and maintains procedures and associated training plans for data center administration.
- Manages project lifecycle and more complex technical and operational risks and issues for smaller projects that are not led by the Project Management Organization.
- Works effectively with peers and associates across the technology organization.
- Makes a positive contribution as demonstrated by: - Making suggestions for improvement - Learning new skills, procedures and processes
- SME for the DCIM (Nlyte) and is responsible for upgrades, integrations and interfacing with other applications.
- Performs other duties as required.
What we’re looking for
Must-Have (Required):
- 4 Year/Bachelor's degree (or equivalent)
- 3+ Years of Information Technology Operations of multi-site data centers, asset tracking, disaster recovery and emergency operations experience.
- 3+ years experience with Data Center Infrastructure Management tools.
- Ability to work and lead virtual teams and matrix organizations.
- Sound knowledge of capacity planning (Power, Cooling, Space).
- Sound knowledge of Data Center and Colocation Center “landlord processes”, space management, cable management, rack & stack, work intake and prioritization.
- Demonstrates Data Center and Colocation Center operational management skills (DCIM, inventory control, access control, site visit coordination, vendor management, technical support management).

The pay range for this position is $69,000 - $124,600 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
