General Purpose of Job

As a Sr. Group Pricing Actuary, you will provide subject matter expertise and direction for the pricing and risk management activities for the Group Protection division’s Underwriting Support and Large Case Customers. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • As a member of the Group Pricing team, consult on the pricing initiatives for UW Support and Large Case Support
  • Manage the Underwriting Support process to provide consultation and guidance to the Underwriting department across all products and case sizes
  • Maintain, enhance, and develop tools to enable UW to complete standardized pricing adjustments
  • Partner with Underwriters to present case reviews for Large Case customers to Senior Management 
  • Manage the Major’s reporting package, which will include a Dashboard, Quarterly delivery of reporting to Management, Quarterly cross-functional meetings, and coordinate with other departments for necessary updates to Major accounts.
  • Partner with product actuaries to advocate for a consistent and transparent pricing tools for Underwriting

  • Provides subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.

  • Continually looks for opportunities to add value to the enterprise by partnering with the businesses on strategic projects.
  • Demonstrates strong relationship management skills with internal clients and or senior management and finds common ground and can facilitate collaboration among senior management, colleagues and peers; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding.

Experience

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) - Minimum Required
  • 5 - 7+ years in Actuarial Science (Required). 
  • Experience in Group Benefits products (Preferred)
  • FSA or ASA designation with additional years of actuarial experience
  • MAAA preferred
  • Experience with Dataiku or SQL (Preferred)

 

Work Arrangement:
