Short Description

This role will lead the investment accounting team in the performance of the monthly general ledger closing activities for all investment and derivative portfolios, investment reporting strategy and enhancement, delivery of investment reporting in an understandable format for target audiences and identification and resolution of technical accounting issues for existing and new investment and derivative transactions.    

Long Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, US GAAP and statutory accounting standards for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future strategies.
    • Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
    • Provides subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
    • Identifies and directs strategic process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
    • Directs/executes approved strategy decisions and contributes to strategy creation for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
    • Provides strategic direction to build and enhance the capability for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.

 ADDITIONAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Carries out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines.  Complies with all company and site policies and procedures.
    • Remains current in profession and industry trends specifically related to investments and derivatives.

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) (Minimum Required)
    • Experience with 7 – 10 years in accounting for complex investment portfolios preferred

Education

4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) - Minimum Required

Experience

10+ Years of experience years in Financial Analysis that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position (Required ),3+ Years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience including influencing senior management/critical stakeholders experience (Required )

 

Work Arrangement:

Hybrid/Home : Employees will work from home generally three days each week and come into a Lincoln office on a schedule their manager will help set, following any applicable in-office training period determined by their manager.
