The Role at a Glance

As the AVP, Workplace AI Strategy, you will provide leadership, direction & functional expertise on complex AI strategy for our Group Benefits and Retirement business lines (Workplace Solutions). You will develop and execute insurance products AI governance initiatives, managing RFP AI Questions, and serving as an AI expert when clients have questions around our use of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Gen AI. You will combine your deep knowledge of insurance products with expertise in AI risk management, regulatory compliance, and exceptional client service skills.
 

What you'll be doing

•    Acts as a subject matter expert regarding AI use cases in production and able to speak to all components with high level knowledge and authority
•    Maintains ethical AI use, data privacy, and continuous upskilling within the team, cultivating a culture of innovation and adaptability
•    Demonstrates deep knowledge of AI models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, etc.) being leveraged by vendors and partner solutions groups and understanding of competitive landscape of AI model usage across industry segment
•    Maintains accountability for owning the deliverable and driving to resolution; leverages expertise while engaging with internal stakeholders across the enterprise to develop the correct responses for specific customer inquiries
•    Serves as a primary point of contact for clients on AI Governance matters related to Workplace Solutions
•    Participate in client calls, presentations, and meetings to explain insurance products, address AI governance questions, and support ongoing partnership development
•    Provide subject matter expert guidance on compliance, risk management, and the responsible use of AI in the administration
•    Demonstrates strategic vision by aligning AI initiatives with business objectives, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering cross-functional collaboration between business and IT teams to maximize operational efficiency

What we’re looking for

Must-haves:
·    10+ years’ experience in Workplace Solutions in Innovation, Strategy or Transformation that align with the responsibilities for this position
·    Strong working knowledge of AI
·    4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)
·    Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed and logical discussions/presentations 
·    Ability to think critically, analyze information and to evaluate the implications of a course of action or solution 
·    Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with both external clients and internal clients (e.g. senior management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches 

Nice-to-haves:  
·    2+ years' experience developing AI Strategy
·    Strong working knowledge of both Group Benefits and Retirement Plan business lines
·    Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists 
·    Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines

The pay range for this position is $125,800 - $229,100 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees.  In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual.  Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
