The Role at a Glance

We are looking to add a Senior Associate to our Commercial Mortgage and Real Estate Investments Team to work in the Charlotte or Greensboro office 4 days per week with an option to work remotely on Fridays. In this role, you will provide day-to-day administration and servicing of our commercial mortgage loan portfolio, working closely with relationship managers, mortgage bankers, production, closers, legal, and accounting to keep loan operations running smoothly. Beyond the core servicing work, we're looking for someone who is genuinely comfortable with technology and change — someone who can learn our current systems and processes quickly, get fluent with the AI and automation tools we use, and, once up to speed, feel empowered to point out where things could work better. As the ideal candidate, you will bring both strong servicing fundamentals and a fresh, tech-forward perspective to a well-established commercial mortgage servicing team managing a multi-billion-dollar loan portfolio.

What you'll be doing

•Administering and servicing the commercial loan portfolio, including processing payments, advances, and payoffs.
•Monitoring loan covenants, insurance, and other compliance requirements throughout the loan lifecycle.
•Maintaining and updating loan documentation and records in our loan servicing system(s).
•Managing escrow accounts and insurance/tax tracking.
•Preparing and distributing reports for management, investment accounting, and regulatory agencies.
•Coordinating with borrowers, correspondents, relationship managers, and internal teams to identify and resolve servicing issues.
•Processing requests for lender consent, loan modifications, renewals, extensions, and payoff calculations.
•Responding to borrower, correspondent and internal inquiries accurately and in a timely manner.
•Assisting with audits and regulatory examinations as needed.
•Learning and actively using AI-enabled and automation tools (e.g., document extraction, data validation, reporting assistants) as part of day-to-day servicing work.
•Identifying inefficiencies or gaps in current servicing workflows and proposing practical improvements, drawing on prior experience and available technology.
•Supporting the evaluation and rollout of new servicing tools, templates, or process changes as the team modernizes its workflows.
•Working on projects and team initiatives as requested.

What we’re looking for

•4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) – Minimum Required
•3+ Years' experience in commercial loan servicing, commercial mortgage servicing, or commercial banking that aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position.
•Able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with a minimum of 4 days in the office.
•Working knowledge of commercial lending practices, loan documents, and applicable regulations.
•Working knowledge of escrow administration and insurance/tax tracking requirements.
•Critical thinking skills.
•Must be detail oriented.
•Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple loans and work independently in a time-sensitive environment where meeting established deadlines is critical.
•Strong interpersonal/customer service skills with the ability to create/build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
•Demonstrated adaptability — comfortable with change, new systems, and evolving processes, with a track record (or clear inclination) of suggesting process improvements once familiar with how a team operates.
•Experience with AI platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Claude, etc.) is preferred.
•Familiarity with regulatory and reporting requirements relevant to insurance company general account lending (e.g., NAIC schedules) is preferred.

Application Deadline

Applications for this position will be accepted through November 11th, 2026 subject to earlier closure due to applicant volume.
