The Role

As the Accounts Payable Service Processor, you will perform and deliver on routine assignments for Lincoln’s Individual Life Insurance Finance Department in accordance with established procedures & guidelines.   You will prepare, record, verify, analyze and report on account transactions.   You will ensure efficient, accurate, and timely processing of all transactions, payments, and reports in accordance with corporate and departmental policies and procedures.

 

Responsibilities

  • Performs task by applying core knowledge obtained from the role and acquires increasingly more knowledge to apply in the role
  • Reviews and processes invoices for payment on a timely basis according to corporate and/or departmental policies and procedures
  • Resolves discrepancies by investigating documentation and determining applicable adjustments
  • Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing transaction information and trends
  • Verifies accounts by reconciling statements, accounts and/or transactions
  • Identifies and researches discrepancies or out of balance situations amongst assigned accounts
  • Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying, posting and correcting assigned transactions
  • Escalates basic account issues to appropriate stakeholders and management
  • Reviews information for completeness and gathers pertinent information from others as needed
  • Tracks and coordinates the process and transactional details
  • Communicates effectively with applicable internal and external stakeholders with regards to any discrepancies
  • Prepare and deliver customer billing and respond to resulting queries
  • Works overtime as needed

 

Education

  • High School diploma required or minimum Associate degree in lieu of required experience

 

Experience

  • 0 - 1+ Years of Accounts Payable & Receivables and/or general accounting experience – Life Underwriting & New Business experience preferred
  • Experience in Lincoln’s systems:  LifeWriter and AWD preferred
  • Ability to learn and use billing system capabilities
  • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret internal documents such as policy and procedures and standard operating procedures
  • Works with mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and averages
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Demonstrates ability to evaluate information and the implications of a course of action or solution.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
