The Role

As the Specialist, (Product) Business Systems Analysis, you will provide technical support for multiple product development projects while simultaneously leveraging and applying knowledge of business systems for the Product Compliance, Filing and Implementation team that is responsible for creating the insurance policy forms and special state notices for products in our Life and Annuity product portfolio.




  • As a member of the Technical Support Team, assists Filing Analysts with forms development, testing and production implementation of policy print for all individual Life and Annuity business lines and supports continuous improvement philosophy and service.
  • Assesses customer needs utilizing a structured requirements process (gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing changes of low to moderate complexity) to identify basic business needs and/or priorities.  Clearly articulates documents and validates basic business requirements.
  • Develops basic technical solution requirements for identified problems, issues and/or defects by assessing impact and prioritization. Escalates issues/conflicts to management as needed.
  • Provides basic systems related input on new product initiatives and works on multiple projects at once.
  • Executes on best practices for policy print forms development to achieve accurate, high quality results with an emphasis on systems.
  • Applies formatting to all static text that appears on policies, riders and state specific notices. 
  • Plans and participates in systems and policy print testing for assigned area of responsibility.
  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for business systems, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.

  • Promotes and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Acts as a liaison for assigned area of responsibility in support of team members across the enterprise, evaluating basic business and user needs, documenting requirements and executing them to completion.
  • Re-evaluates priorities to accommodate changing business needs in a fast paced environment.


  • Identifies and communicates to management process improvements that reduce workloads or improve quality within business systems area.
  • Locates and uses relevant documentation and information of products and business systems for assigned area of responsibility.
  • Collaborates and coordinates with appropriate internal stakeholders to assess and deliver proposed technical solutions which meet business requirements and/or which integrates process, business rules and business data with technology.




  • Undergraduate degree or 4+ years of comparable work experience


  • 1 - 3 years of experience in the Insurance or financial services Industry, experience in business systems analysis desired, or related experience in product development, insurance operations, systems, or client facing duties a plus.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail.
  • Proven accuracy in documentation, business systems knowledge, and proficiency
  • Demonstrates solid project management skills including critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to translate technical and business data into meaningful information using the appropriate communication vehicle.
  • Must be highly analytical, comfortable with systems and software, process driven, and have good communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter, proactively taking action and in a team environment with others to accomplish organizational goals.  Minimal travel, no relocation provided.#LI-AY1
