The Role

Lincoln Group Protection IT team is seeking an experienced Software Developer to develop software solutions for document generation and/or document storage and retrieval needs for our business.  This includes participating on the Document Management team to develop new or enhance solutions and application stability.

In an Agile environment, work with business team members, product owners, and other software engineers to review and qualify business requirements, functional specifications, use-cases, and test plans to meet the business needs.


  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
  • Analyzes, designs, codes, debugs, integrates and tests increasingly complex software application solutions for systems.
  • Determines how existing applications, systems, databases, interfaces and/or hardware can interact to meet new and emerging enterprise initiatives.
  • Researches, develops, implements and maintains increasingly complex business application solutions.
  • Identifies potential application solutions by understanding increasingly complex business/technical problems and opportunities.
  • Analyzes increasingly complex systems specifications of existing programs to determine requirements.
  • Provides input and validates increasingly complex project plans, test plans and implementation plans.
  • Partners with application stakeholders to ensure that systems are designed, developed and implemented from a business point of view.
  • Proactively identifies problems and presents/develops solutions to help reduce workloads or improve quality
  • Communicates effectively with internal stakeholders and management.
  • Serves as a resource to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on more complex assignments/projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.



  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience (Minimum Required)


  • Minimum 3 years of professional development experience in Java/J2EE (Spring framework a plus)
  • Proficient in understanding IT concepts, strategies, methodologies, architectures and technical standards.           
  • Experience working on Documaker vendor platform or OpenText solutions (Documentum) a benefit.  
  • Minimum 4 years of professional development experience in Java/J2EE (Spring framework a plus)
  • Experience with SQL – Oracle & Sybase - In memory databases (ex: MongoDB) a plus
  • Knowledge in SOA/Microservices with Cloud Deployments (Paas/PCF)
  • Knowledge or experience with Apache Camel, Junit, Maven and JPA/Hbernate 
  • Experience with agile software development concepts and processes.
  • Must be proactive, demonstrate initiative and be a logical thinker.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery Build Pipeline
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication and collaboration skills #LI-CG1
