The Role at a Glance:

We are excited to bring on a Senior Software Engineer to our Group Protection Solutions team to work in our Dover, New Hampshire based office or from home.  

Background Details:

As Lincoln Financial Group continues through its technology transformation Journey, our Group Protection Solutions team has led the way.  As part of this GP IT team, this senior full stack engineer will help to design and implement a best in business Group Protection Claims Solutions.  You’ll have the opportunity to work on a team that has fully adopted agile methodology, DevOps, and a true meritocracy with respect to how technology decisions are made.   As a senior member on this software engineering team, you can expect to design and implement multiple application integrations as well as a cloud transformation that is taking LFG to newer heights.  Lincoln’s Claims and Group Protection Businesses are evolving and embracing technology transformation across the board, and in this role you will help create the roadmap for how solutions are architected and implemented for years to come.  If this sounds like you, please read on!

What you'll be doing:

  • Owning and managing the full lifecycle of web applications; from designing, writing, testing, building, deploying, monitoring
  • Using tools with expertise such as Atlassian (Bitbucket, Bamboo, JIRA, Confluence), New Relic, and Slack, to drive operations and collaboration
  • Constructing and implementing software within a full stack environment (Front end, API, persistence, integrations)
  • Leveraging front-end frameworks (React.js) and back-end frameworks (e.g. Spring Boot)
  • Actively moving solutions to AWS Cloud
  • Practicing and driving engineering practices such as DevOps (CI/CD; you build it, you own it), 12-factor design, independent architecture

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

  • 5-7+ years of professional experience developing applications in a Java framework
  • Experience with microservice design (Service-Oriented Architecture) and RESTful web services
  • Experience with working within a fully dedicated Agile team
  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience 


Nice-to haves:

  • Experienced Spring Boot (Java) and/or React.js
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Delivery and DevOps
