The Role at a Glance

We are excited to bring on a Sr. Consultant, Group Products to our Group Product Solutions team supporting Group Life, AD&D, and value-add services. 

 

Background Details
As a Sr. Consultant, Group Products on the Group Product Solutions Team, you will provide leadership and direction on complex product development & management initiatives and projects for group products and related value-add services. You will act as a subject matter expert to contribute to the definition of product strategy, vision, value proposition, and product enhancements. You will lead the market release of products and enhancements and manage the product lifecycle to ensure group products/services are market competitive and meet customer needs.

What you'll be doing

  • Provides direction and subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external business partners and stakeholders on complex assignments, projects, and/or initiatives throughout the product lifecycle to build and enhance capabilities and contribute to the definition of product strategy.
  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
  • Leads the gathering, reviewing & synthesizing of competitive and industry intelligence data to identify trends & opportunities; drives product initiatives to capitalize on them.
  • Stays up-to-date on market & regulatory changes that impact the product line; collaborates with Legal & Compliance to ensure product offering remains compliant with complex legislation & regulatory changes.
  • Develops the product vision & value proposition based on customer needs & input, market & competitive information.
  • Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives.
  • Works with various internal teams to manage product risk drivers, while ensuring continued market success.
  • Collaborates with various internal teams to manage product & profit levers to ensure the products meet growth, revenue, expense & profit expectations.
  • Develops product-related training materials; participates in training presentations for internal & external clients.
  • Proactively works with internal & external partners to enhance sales performance and meet growth, revenue, persistency & profitability expectations.
  • Collaborates with product marketing partners, field distribution & training to lead the creation of effective product positioning, marketing, & product launch campaigns.
  • Reviews & evaluates marketing materials to ensure accuracy & consistency with objectives.
  • Plays a lead role in product promotion, marketing, training & communication.
  • Collaborates with key cross-functional stakeholders and provides leadership & direction to drive profitable & market-leading product development, implementation, and ongoing product life-cycle management.
  • Identifies and directs the implementation of process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit.
  • Develops business requirements & specifications for product implementation & enhancements.
  • Communicates product vision & strategies, develops business cases and obtains organizational buy-in & funding.
  • Provides leadership & technical support for product development activities, day-to-day inquiries & escalated issues from field associates.
  • Manages vendor relationships to ensure efficient service delivery; identifies & resolves escalated issues.
  • Manages products to achieve product & business financial objectives; identifies, analyzes & escalates issues; leads resolution with business partners.

What we’re looking for

Must-haves:

  • 5-7+ Years of experience in group insurance or employee benefits  
  • Experience with Group Life, AD&D, and value-add services 
  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)

Pay Range: $87,700 - $159,900 

 

Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees.  In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual.  Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
