General Purpose of Job

This position will consult/analyze and deliver on more complex assignments/projects in many aspects of the product development activities for variable annuities, specifically Choice Plus, American Legacy, InvestorAdvantage and InvestmentSolutions.    They will also act as a resource to applicable internal/external stakeholders and requires someone who can interact comfortably across the organization and externally. 

Duties and Responsibilities

Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of variable annuity business, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
Manages changes to VA product line (both new business and inforce) in terms of product features, investment options, living/death benefits.
Champions and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Serves as a resource for investment options added to the core variable annuity line.
Serves as a resource to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on more complex assignments/projects for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Identifies and recommends process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Consults/Analyze on more complex assignments and/or projects for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Supports business management issues for assigned area(s) as they arise & applies a seasoned business judgment weighing the impact on product profitability, distribution relationships, legal & regulatory issues & administrative capabilities in decisions.
Evaluates trends in data or information. Recognizes opportunities or potential problems, before they become obvious, by seeking input from a range of sources, including insights beyond own area of responsibility.
Delivers on more complex assignments and projects in support of product development and implementation in the launch of new products/riders/services for the business line.
Develops an understanding of the market, customer needs, the competition and the strengths and gaps in the current product portfolio.
Presents options and tradeoffs under consideration in new product development and gathers input on new product development ideas.
Provides technical product knowledge and driving decisions during system requirement sessions and operational meetings.
Identifies and recommends process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality.
Proactively anticipates, prepares for, and takes action on future business-related opportunities.
Provides technical input to and review of marketing materials, contract and prospectus language.
Responds efficiently to roadblocks, remaining dedicated to achieve team and departmental goals.
Identifies different or diverse markets to enhance market reach.

Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements.
Well rounded analytical and computer skills.


4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) - Minimum Required


FINRA Series 6 license -180 Days


1 - 3+ Years Experience with insurance product management (e.g., financials, valuation, investments, pricing, risk management, etc.)  (Required)
3 - 5+ Years Experience with insurance product development and implementation (e.g., idea development, operational requirements meetings, marketing launches, etc.)  (Required)


Work Arrangement:

Hybrid/Home : Employees will work from home generally three days each week and come into a Lincoln office on a schedule their manager will help set, following any applicable in-office training period determined by their manager.
