Background Details
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Complex Corrections & Suspense Operations Specialist to provide strategic oversight and subject matter expertise across key operational functions within our retirement plan services. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in contribution processing, legal document interpretation (including QDROs), workflow management, and system troubleshooting. While the role includes hands-on responsibilities, the primary focus is on guiding internal teams and external service providers to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence. What you'll be doing
- Provide oversight and direction on operational processes related to participant transactions, contributions, and trade activities, ensuring alignment with plan rules and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze data trends and recurring errors, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Review and interpret legal documents, including QDROs and other court orders, ensuring proper execution and compliance.
- Manage and prioritize workflow across internal teams and external vendors, ensuring timely and accurate processing of participant activities.
- Lead resolution efforts for system issues, collaborating with IT and vendor teams to troubleshoot and implement long-term solutions.
- Conduct quality audits of service provider deliverables, ensuring adherence to internal controls and compliance standards.
- Mentor and support junior team members, providing guidance on issue resolution and communication strategies.
- Maintain and enhance process documentation, SOPs, and training materials to support consistency and knowledge sharing.
- Support audit and compliance readiness, preparing documentation and communicating key findings and risks to leadership.
- Identify and recommend process and system improvements that enhance operational efficiency and participant experience.
What we’re looking for
Must-have experience (Required):
- 4 Year/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor’s).
- 1-3+ Years of experience in retirement plan administration that directly aligns to the responsibilities of this position.
- Ability to work with others in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail.
- Solid project management skills with the critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure and meeting deadlines.
- Solid relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. management, peers and colleagues).
- Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

The pay range for this position is $53,500 - $96,300 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
