The Role at a Glance

We are excited to bring on a Project Manager to our Strategic Planning Office Business PMO.
 
As a Project Manager for the Business PMO, you will provide direction on complex projects/initiatives for our Retirement Planning Services business, ensuring the successful development and implementation of medium to large scale, cross functional projects. You will be responsible for setting deadlines, assigning tasks, and monitoring and summarizing progress of projects for executive leadership and ensuring business organizational readiness, while confirming adherence to governance guidelines. This position requires strong communication and facilitation skills across multiple lines of business and with varying levels of management with a core focus on the business planning/implementation, communications, organizational readiness, user acceptance testing, transition to business plan and post implementation benefits. We are looking for a highly energized and motivated individual to grow with our team and help drive value for our retirement business area.

What you'll be doing

  • Demonstrate strong project management skills through the critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time sensitive environment, under pressure, while meeting deadlines. 
  • Collaborates effectively with management and key project stakeholders on complex issues and conflicts that impact time, cost, scope, quality & risk of assigned projects.
  • Coordinates organizational readiness activities and teams to ensure communications, marketing, training, legal, and compliance are on schedule.
  • Acts as a liaison between business and IT teams and/or vendors.
  • Facilitates project communications with sponsors and other key stakeholders.
  • Monitors & evaluates more complex projects progress & performance against the project plan & develops more complex mitigation plans.
  • Serves as a resource to team members & applicable internal/external stakeholders on project management best practice standards, templates & practices. 
  • Strives to find common ground and gain collaboration, influencing outcomes without directing or commanding, to help achieve desired business outcomes.

What we're looking for

Must-haves:

  • 3 + years of project management experience 
  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of bachelor's)
  • Strong communication, relationship building and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

 

Nice-to-haves:  

  • Financial services industry experience (specific in retirement services) highly preferred
  • Project Management Certification (PMP)
  • Agile methodology experience

 

Work Arrangement

Hybrid/Home : Employees will work from home on average more days per week.
