The Role at a Glance

This position will perform and deliver on routine assignments/projects while simultaneously leveraging and applying accounting knowledge. They will analyze accounting transactions to resolve processing issues and ensure compliance with internal controls. They will participate in projects related to the accounting systems in which there are impacts to financial controls.

What you'll be doing

  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for suspense reconciliation, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
  • Promotes and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives.
  • Identifies, communicates, and implements process improvements that reduce workloads or improve quality for accounting controls.
  • Conducts analysis to resolve business and processing issues and provides problem-solving production support to internal stakeholders.
  • Analyzes accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with internal controls and SOX.
  • Monitors Managed Service Provider (MSP) activity and provides direction as necessary to ensure journal entries to the general ledger are accurate and on-time.
  • Identifies when accounting and/or general ledger corrections are necessary and explains root cause to internal business partners and/or MSP.
  • Provides technical accounting system support to business partners, including creating adhoc reports, business security accesses, business continuity and disaster recovery planning & coordination.
  • Participates in modifying existing and/or developing new workflows which reflect changes resulting from new system or business processes.
  • Assesses impact and recommends solutions to resolve issues related to major new accounting initiatives and system mergers and consolidations.
  • Participates in prioritization meetings and provides prioritization recommendations for the implementation of system enhancements.
  • Tests product releases in assigned systems for all product lines.
  • Liaises between Operational Areas and Finance Departments to capture business needs and acquire data to minimize gaps in project requirements.
  • May participate in the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) documenting and testing process.
  • Identifies process inefficiencies and makes recommendations to business unit accounting departments to streamline the workflow, reduce unit cost, and enhance service.

  • 1-3+ Years experience in accounting or operations that directly aligned to the specific responsibilities for this role
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical skills and close attention to detail is necessary
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a changing work environment

The pay range for this position is $53,500 - $96,300 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees.  In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual.  Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
