The Role at a Glance:

As a Sr. Consultant, Treasury, you will provide subject matter expertise and direction on complex projects/initiatives for your assigned area(s) of Treasury responsibility. In this role you will provide consultative services, cash/treasury management products, and solutions through strong relationships with commercial banks and internal customers in business areas across the enterprise. You will identify, negotiate, secure, and manage treasury services from external providers. This role will also resolve complex problems and issues.

What you'll be doing:

  • Builds effective relationships with commercial banks, other treasury service providers, and internal customers.
  • Serves as subject matter expert to team members and internal stakeholders in business areas across the enterprise regarding treasury practices and services.
  • Promotes Treasury Operations services and systems to internal customers by providing professional advice and services (for improvement and cost savings).
  • Reviews and assesses client operations involving treasury services pertaining to Reinsurance, Investment and Alternative Asset Accounting, Separate Account and Registered Funds, and Cash and Liquidity management.
  • Collaborates with internal/external business partners to evaluate processes, systems, and applications.
  • Provides treasury and banking information to LFG finance and investment teams in order to support the development of industry leading products/processes.
  • Leads meetings with internal customers on a regular basis to offer improvement opportunities and provide proactive, innovative, customer-focused guidance and availability of leading edge treasury management products and solutions at competitive prices.
  • Meets simultaneous needs of different internal clients and manage complex issues and conflict with clients and vendors.  Acts as liaison between Treasury Services users and internal/external providers.
  • Recommends and regularly reviews bank services, agreements/contracts, and pricing/service fees; authorizes changes to banking applications.
  • Leads or co-leads requests-for-proposal involving Treasury-related services.
  • Reviews and authorizes bank account structures and flow of funds for the effective management of cash; consults with banks to open bank accounts, lower funding costs, improve cash flow, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Leads the development, planning, and delivery of educational seminars/workshops related to treasury account services and products for Treasury staff, internal customers, and external banking partners.
  • Resolves complex problems and issues, recommends, and implements changes to yield more effective operations, and directs and/or participates in departmental or enterprise-wide projects.
  • Ensures treasury compliance with established regulatory processes and guidelines for treasury services as new products are utilized.
  • Collaborates with senior management and other stakeholders to develop policies, procedures, and operational controls and standards for new and existing treasury services.
  • Performs complex treasury activities to support cash and liquidity management and/or statutory requirements and ensure sufficient funds are available for working capital needs.
  • Prepares adhoc reports, analysis, and research as needed. 
  • Carrying out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines.  Complying with all company and site policies and procedures.
  • Remaining current in profession and industry trends.
  • Makes a positive contribution as demonstrated making suggestions for improvement continuing to learn new skills, procedures and processes
  • Performs other duties as required.



What we're looking for:


  • 5 - 7+ Years of experience in Treasury and/or Finance that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position
  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of accounting concepts, including differences/nuances of STAT vs. GAAP and how those apply to investments, reinsurance, etc.
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of the operations and terminology pertaining to Investments and Alternative Assets, Reinsurance, Separate Accounts and Registered Funds, and Cash and Liquidity management.
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment; Finds common ground and can gain collaboration among senior/executive management, colleagues, and peers; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and recommend processes improvements.
  • Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.
  • Demonstrates the ability to use sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information.
  • Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements.
