The Role

This position will provide support and deliver on assignments and projects in the Mortgage & Real Estate area. S/he will assist in the management and monitoring of Lincolns commercial mortgage loan portfolio. Under general supervision, s/he will research and address basic inquiries, ensure appropriate and timely resolutions to issues, and assist with compliance reviews and other mortgage & real estate processes.




  • Acts as a key contributor with Lincolns annual financial statement review process through examination of loans across the entire commercial mortgage loan portfolio and identification of issues that should be monitored
  • Assists in the management and disposition of Real Estate owned properties
  • Assists in the preparation of quarterly watch list and determination of loan reserves
  • Assists with SOX/MAR compliance for the Mortgage & Real Estate department with internal/external auditors
  • Collaborates and partners with management to support business objectives
  • Collaborates with the Financial Reporting department on the monthly pricing of the entire mortgage loan portfolio
  • Continues to develop knowledge and expertise in mortgage & real estate asset management
  • Effectively communicates with borrowers, correspondents, legal counsel, internal & external partners on a variety of mortgage loan portfolio issues and initiatives
  • Collaborates with internal/external legal counsel on loans where potential litigation may be warranted
  • Inputs loan portfolio data into loan management and accounting systems
  • Collaborates with appropriate internal/external stakeholders, including legal counsel, to facilitate the foreclosure process for defaulted loans
  • Participates in professional and industry organizations and may attend industry conferences
  • Partners with the Closing and Servicing Team on loan assumptions, lease terminations, modifications, extensions, transfers, and nonperforming loans
  • Prepares presentations on portfolio performance and monitoring for internal meetings with management and senior leadership, also contributes to preparation of other presentations for the Mortgage & Real Estate department
  • Responds to requests from internal/external auditors concerning quarterly & annual audits of Mortgage & Real Estate team processes
  • Tracks required reporting (e.g. internal reports to the Head of Real Estate, general authorizations, and ad hoc data collection efforts)


Education & Experience

  • 0 - 1+ Years experience in general business, finance, and/or real estate directly aligned to the specific responsibilities for this position (Required)
  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)in (Minimum Required)
