The Role


This position plays a primary role in the pricing and implementation of Term products on the Core Life Product Individual Life team.  The ADP participant in this role will contribute to their design, modeling, and rate development.  As the market has evolved over the past few years, Lincoln’s ability to react quickly to changes in the marketplace and competitive landscape has become critical to our success.  This role’s focus will be ensuring that Lincoln’s offerings in this key market remain competitive, profitable, and successful.




ALFA Modeling

  • Maintains Term pricing models, and makes changes as necessary to test various scenarios, sensitivities, and sales opportunities. 
  • Develops a thorough understanding of model assumptions, product mechanics, and reserving/financial regulations in order to validate each component of model output. 


Rate Creation

  • Develops and maintains tools which facilitate rate development, loading of rates into pricing models and spreadsheets, and delivery of rates to IT systems.


Pricing Analysis and Documentation

  • Coordinates with various areas of the company (risk management, experience studies, data metrics, information technology, competitive intelligence, etc.) to develop model assumptions and product specifications. 
  • Clearly and consistently documents steps used in pricing process and results obtained. 
  • Helps to develop and deliver presentations of pricing results to risk management teams.





  • Undergraduate degree or 4+ years of comparable work experience; educational concentration in mathematics or actuarial science is preferred.
  • Associate (ASA) or progress towards ASA with additional years of actuarial experience.



  • 3+ years of applicable actuarial experience including financial products and analysis that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position
  • Analytical skills: ability to think critically, identify and solve potential challenges, and validate results
  • Programming/modeling skills
  • Proficiency with actuarial pricing software, such as MG-ALFA
  • Priority setting, time management and organizational skills
  • Term knowledge and general insurance/business knowledge
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
