The Role at a glance:

Our IT Infrastructure organization is hiring!  We are looking to hire a new DevOps associate for our Platform Engineering and Automation Team in a remote capacity.

Our IT organization has embraced utilizing the cloud and code to manage infrastructure, this team has also put emphasis on hiring early career talent to join LFG at an exciting time for automation, and highly visible projects across the enterprise. This is a great opportunity for an up-and-coming technologist with solid coding knowledge looking to catapult their career in the world of DevOps. If you are self-driven and hungry to learn, there’s limitless possibility to be exposed to projects that use technologies such as containers, GitLab, Puppet, and AWS. What you'll be doing:

  • You will consult, analyze, engineer, and help deliver Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Automation, and DevOps solutions for Tech and Business teams across the Lincoln Enterprise.
  • You’ll be utilizing your coding knowledge to automate and configure IT Infrastructure
  • Helping to build end to end self-service solutions to enable application deployment. Otherwise known as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
  • You’ll work in a collaborative environment with internal stakeholders and IT to develop and understand requirements and expectations to achieve quality technical solutions
  • Define and manage development tasks, dependencies, and work estimates
  • You will document programs and procedures
  • Participate in requirements, design, and coding walkthroughs
  • Identify opportunities and support innovative solutions 

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:  

  • 1-3+ years experience coding with scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or NodeJS.
  • 1-3+ years experience working with Infrastructure as Code tooling such as Puppet, Ansible, Chef, etc.
  • Working knowledge of common tools in the DevOps space, such as Artifact Repositories, CI/CD, Deployment Tooling, and Configuration Management.
  • Familiarity with source control (Git) and SDLC practices, such as CI/CD Pipelining, Branching, Semantic Versioning, and Release Cycle.
  • General knowledge of OS and Infra concepts as they relate to building IaC
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and analytical skills
  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Engineering


Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience deploying applications to AWS Cloud
  • Experience with any of the following:  SonarQube, GitLab, Atlassian Stack (Bamboo, Bitbucket, Crowd), Hashicorp Vault, Digital.AI Tool Stack (Deploy and Release), Containers (Docker, Mirantis), Splunk and/or AppDynamics.
