The Role at a Glance:

As a Specialist, Business Analyst, you will perform and deliver on routine assignments/projects while simultaneously leveraging and applying knowledge of assigned area(s) of responsibility.  In this position you will be responsible for investigating system performance and analyzing if alerts are in place. This position will help to identify gaps to allow our IT partners to implement changes where needed to ensure our Business Applications and Processes are working and notifications to IT are enable to so the appropriate teams can quickly pivot to resolve issues to decrease impact to our Business Partners. 
This position will enable our business partners to successfully improve quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the processes by delivering the required results.

What you'll be doing:

Business Process Analysis and Management

  • Works with assigned business unit stakeholders to define scope and objective of business needs through an understanding of business processes and systems and identification of gaps and limitations.
  • Coordinates with IT resources to develop and document the specific business requirements and functional specifications to develop or modify business systems.  
  • Identifies requirements risks and mitigations.
  • Validates system functionality with end users through data and/or functional testing. 
  • Participates in all pre-deployment activities to ensure successful launch including coordination of UAT.
  • Resolves issues and ensures process of escalating required fixes. Tracks change requests, assesses impacts of changes, communicates changes to business unit stakeholders and obtains approvals as necessary. 
  • Supports project team with organizational change management process by defining communication and training plans customized to impacted stakeholder groups. 
  • Manages communication to business unit stakeholders regarding status, timeframes, issues, resolutions, etc.

User Acceptance Testing

  • Create end to end test scripts to be executed once the final product is delivered for testing
  • Coordinates with the business areas to have user acceptance testing concurrent with or following BSO initial testing review
  • Manage all test inputs and provide to IT for additional modification

Project Management 

  • Identify impacted areas and develop a plan of approach for the project
  • Facilitate an initial project meeting with stakeholders to further define the project scope and begin the process of understanding the requirements of all areas
  • Develop a project charter and ROI for the business needs identified
  • Creates and provides Business Services Organization (BSO) estimates (work effort, tasks, time necessary to complete project, needed resources) for business unit and executive management approval.

What we're looking for:


  • 1-3+ years of experience in Business Analysis that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position. 
  • Undergraduate degree or 4+ years of comparable work experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret both internal and external documents such as general media/publications, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, policies, proposals, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to evaluate information and the implications of a course of action or solution.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates solid project management skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with collaborative style; Finds common ground and can gain collaboration among management, colleagues and peers; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding.
  • Demonstrates the ability to use sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proficiency with Business Analysis (IIBA/BABOK), User Acceptance Testing, Project Management, Process Improvement
