The Role

 

This position will provide subject matter expertise and direction on complex projects/initiatives for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility. S/he will prepare, analyze, and interpret complex data used to determine appropriate commercial mortgage loan investments of general account assets. Additionally, s/he will effectively manage complex investments with the goal of optimizing Lincolns returns. This position supports a team that manages a $13 billion commercial mortgage loan portfolio.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Actively promotes and markets Lincolns commercial mortgage loan platform and program to correspondent mortgage bankers & borrowers.
  • Builds connections and collaborative relationships with other functional areas of Lincolns commercial mortgage loan platform including loan closing, servicing, asset management and risk management to help achieve business objectives.
  • Develops and manages mortgage banking correspondent network in assigned territory to originate commercial mortgage loan investments to achieve business objectives.
  • Develops strong collaborative relationships with internal customers to ensure work product meet their business needs.
  • Effectively prepares, presents and recommends select investments to senior management. Effectively communicates with a variety of constituents and audiences.
  • Leads business representation on new commercial mortgage loan investments with internal and external legal counsel, and internal loan closers, including negotiation of complex deal structures.
  • Leads or participates in departmental projects and provides subject matter expertise on complex initiatives.
  • Maintains a highly visible presence within loan territory including frequent business development and due diligence trips, in addition to local market-level industry participation.
  • Maintains an understanding of current real estate market data and trends
  • Manages and monitors mortgage & real estate loan portfolio in assigned territory and promptly detects and reports on problem assets to minimize risk.
  • Underwrites and originates new commercial mortgage loan investments consistent with LFGs program, including negotiating complex loan terms, reviewing documents, managing preparation of investment memorandum, site inspections, and other due diligence items
  • Works closely with Head of Production, team leaders and analysts to execute loan origination goals and objectives.
  • Works collaboratively with loan servicing to manage complex loan servicing requests requiring business input and underwriting.

 

Education & Experience

  • 5 7+ Years of experience in commercial real estate finance, commercial real estate lending, and/or asset management directly aligned to the specific responsibilities for this position (Required)
  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)in (Minimum Required)
