The Role

 

This position will design and deliver complex quality engineering (QE) automation frameworks, tools and other solutions for software development and deployment initiatives to ensure the systems meet expectations. S/he will also provide subject matter expertise and direction for his/her area of responsibility to internal stakeholders to ensure QE best practices and enterprise standards are utilized and implemented throughout the automation effort.

 

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Adapts the automation solutions as necessary to achieve expected results.
  • Determines complex best practices and innovative approaches and suggests how to improve current quality processes, standards and practices.
  • Determines range and depth of activities required for developing or customizing complex test automation frameworks, researching and onboarding automation tools, for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Develops and implements metrics to measure automation effectiveness in project/release work.
  • Identifies and directs the implementation of test automation related improvements that positively impact software delivery across the enterprise.
  • Influences QE teams to implement expanded automation coverage by adding automated environment validation, smoke and functional test scripts to CI/CD pipeline.
  • Leads the design and implementation of enterprise test automation frameworks, methodology and tool integration for agile and waterfall teams.
  • Leads, directs and/or participates in projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Provides expertise and training, and coaching to junior team members.
  • Provides status reports and metrics on assigned projects.
  • Provides technical subject matter expertise to project teams and internal stakeholders (e.g. application developers, application support, testers) on a broad variety of software testing issues.
  • Provides training to the end users on the available automation solutions, tools and methodology.

 

 

Education

 

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)in (Minimum Required)

 

 

Experience

 

  • 5 - 7+ Years of experience in software test automation, automation framework development or other applicable Information Technology experience that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position. (Required)
