The Role at a Glance
As the Sr. Product Configuration Consultant, you will provide subject matter expertise and direction on complex projects/initiatives related to the configuration of insurance/annuity products in applicable system(s) from implementation through periodic product changes & updates. In this role, you will collaborate with product & actuarial teams and other stakeholders to understand product design as well as to provide expertise on system functionality to accommodate product requirements.
We are excited to be adding this new role to our Annuity Product Delivery team in our Fort Wayne, IN; Greensboro, NC; Hartford, CT or Radnor, PA offices.
Background Details
As a Sr. Consultant for Annuity Product Configuration, you will be on the leading edge as we build our Annuity products and launch them on our new administrative system. This platform is a configurable system that will allow technical business users to build products and create rules that will guide end processors in issuing and administering annuity policies. You will be responsible for building all product features and functionality for our Variable Annuity products and riders on this new platform. What you'll be doing
• Collaborates closely with product teams to develop in-depth understanding of complex insurance/annuity product features & requirements and determine appropriate approach to configure and implement product in applicable system(s).
• Facilitates and manages discussions with insurance/annuity product teams regarding business functionality and/or product logic.
• Identifies gaps between product requirements and system solutions; proposes ideas to address these issues.
• Leads detailed discussions with product & actuarial resources regarding setup and processing of complex calculations & product logic within applicable system(s).
• Provides subject matter expertise to internal/external stakeholders on system functionality for various aspects of insurance/annuity products.
• Analyzes and translates complex product features into detailed, functional specifications for multiple system solutions.
• Configures complex calculations and other product logic for insurance/annuity products in applicable system(s); reconfigures as needed based on product changes and/or business feedback.
• Leads development of testing plans and conducting testing, leveraging automated testing functionality within applicable system(s).
• Liaises with testing resources to ensure calculations & product logic function as per specifications; discusses options to resolve defects uncovered during testing.
• Contributes to overall product implementation by developing product configuration project plans, including estimate time frames, resources required, and potential system impacts & other risks.
• Regularly assesses progress against plan; provides status updates to management and other stakeholders; re-forecasts project steps/variables as necessary throughout project.
• Develops & continuously improves product configuration processes to fully utilize functionality and flexibility of system(s).
• Partners with IT systems resources, engages in dialogue throughout the product development process, and negotiates solutions acceptable to all parties whenever feasible.
• Supports agile adoption in product configuration by participating and engaging with leadership, product development, and agile teams.
• Carries out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines. Complies with all company and site policies and procedures.
• Remains current in profession and industry trends.
• Makes a positive contribution as demonstrated by making suggestions for improvement and continuing to learn new skills, procedures and processes
• Performs other duties as required.
What we’re looking for
• 4 Year/Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) (Minimum Required)
• 5 – 7+ Years experience in the insurance and/or financial services industry directly aligned to the specific responsibilities for this role. (Required)
• Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed and logical discussions/presentations.
• Ability to identify and recommend process improvements
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail.
• Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.
• Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong Excel skills

Pay Range: $97,700 - $139,900
Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
