The Role at a Glance:

We’re excited to bring on a Senior Associate Actuary, Life Valuation & Modeling. In this role you will be responsible for leading Life modeling initiatives with a focus on valuation model transformation and process improvement. The individual will contribute to a technical team that contemplates the latest technologies to develop more capable and efficient valuation reporting process to meet elevating financial reporting requirement.  

What you'll be doing:

  • ALFA Modeling and Process Development: Develop ALFA logic and external tools to enable all financial reporting, GAAP/Stat/CFT, from a consolidated ALFA Life inforce model. Improve modeling, reporting and control efficiency and gain insight into results analysis to meet the elevated regulatory requirements under LDTI and PBR. Embrace a continuous improvement mindset to constantly innovate methodologies and assumptions embedded in the model.
  • Model Validation and Governance: Develop, expand, and maintain validation tools such as external spreadsheets used to verify model results.  Create and maintain proper documentation of model changes.  Assist in developing and executing model reporting controls and governance structures.  Critically monitor modeling methods and assumptions, identifying areas to improve.
  • Data Process Enhancement:  Utilize latest internal and external technologies to develop pre- and post-model data processes to enhance data consistency, accuracy, and analytical capabilities to meet evolving financial reporting requirement. 
  • Team Environment:  Work with a team of professionals on critical model enhancement initiatives in support of Life modeling, collaborating across the organization to support strong relationships with Life Pricing, Strategy, Model Governance, Corporate Actuarial, and others. Support the efforts of other teams to overcome challenges with valuation reporting using MG-ALFA.

What we're looking for:


  • FSA designation or ASA designation with additional years’ actuarial experience
  • 6+ years of experience in Actuarial positions that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities of the position.
  • Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or other quantitative major is required.
  • Life product knowledge and general insurance business knowledge 
  • Modeling skills: proficiency in MG-ALFA or other actuarial modeling software 
  • Priority setting, time management and organizational skills
  • Analytical skills: ability to think critically, identify, and solve potential challenges
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, adaptable to a wide variety of audiences throughout Lincoln’s organizational structure


  • Knowledge of GAAP/Stat/CFT reporting, including LDTI and PBR is preferred 
  • Technical and programming skills in database and analytical technologies, such as SQL, Tableau etc
  • History of innovation and process improvement
