The Role

 

As the Sr. Strategic Transformation Consultant, you will provide subject matter expertise and direction on complex projects & initiatives for Lincoln’s Life Solutions area, including establishing and leading complex enterprise wide, cross-functional initiatives and leading different projects & programs including efforts to launch new products and services, large scale application development, systems integration, operational efficiency improvements, process reengineering, and infrastructure upgrades and deployments.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies complex project & program resourcing needs & facilitates the procurement of needed hardware, software & human resources for the project. 
  • Provides direction on complex assignments, projects, and initiatives to build and enhance the capability of assigned area.
  • Develops & executes complex effective project & program management throughout the project development lifecycle, including but not limited to: project planning, resource planning change management and communications planning, & managing changes to scope
  • Ensures that the project schedule is accurate, updated, and reflective of authorized changes.
  • Directs and delivers complex projects and/or programs conforming to project management standards and processes, including applicable change control and project management methodology.
  • Identifies key cross-functional issues and project synergies; provides guidance with specific project issues.
  • Collaborates effectively with management and appropriate project stakeholders on complex issues and conflicts that impact time, cost, scope, quality and risk of assigned projects/programs.
  • Analyzes assigned project and program plans to validate if project outcomes will meet the business needs and align/support operational plans/objectives and recommends mitigation plans.
  • Advises and collaborates with project owners and appropriate personnel to manage project/program quality and cost.
  • Monitors and evaluates assigned complex project and/or program’s progress and performance against the project plan and develops complex mitigation plans.
  • Identifies and resolves complex project and/or program issues to minimize delays.
  • Facilitates project/program communications with sponsors and other leaders/contributors.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on project management best practice standards, templates and practices.
  • Utilizes influence skills to help achieve desired business outcomes.
  • Serves as a mentor and shares expertise with project managers and project team members.

 

Requirments

 

Education

  • 4 Year Bachelor's degree or 4 years of equivalent work experience required
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification(s) preferred

 

Experience

  • 5-7+ Years of Experience in Project/Program Management that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position (Required)
  • 2+ years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience including influencing senior management/critical stakeholders experience (Required)
  • Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.
  • Deep financial services experience required, Insurance Experience preferred
  • Expertise leading large data and technology projects
  • Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed and logical discussions/presentations
  • Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Expertise in change management and adoption optimization
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with collaborative task management platforms (Teamwork Projects, Workfront, JIRA)
  • A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations.
  • Possesses a bias for action and avoids workplace distractions.
