The Role


As the Consultant, Annuity Innovation Lab, you will consult and deliver on more complex projects/initiatives to support innovation & research new engines of growth for Annuity Solutions.  This role will be responsible for evaluating and determining viability for new initiatives.  You will also serve as a resource of innovative thought and collaborate with key thought leaders to create a portfolio of impactful ideas that create opportunities for differentiation in the marketplace.





  • Researches and implements more complex initiatives that support medium-term and long-term growth and profitability
  • Acts as a resource to cross-functional teams to facilitate progress of select initiatives and recommends corrective action when necessary
  • Plays a key role in program management to maximize project synergies and ensure delivery of holistic and high impact business solutions across multiple workstreams
  • Prepares and implements pilot process to bring new solutions to market, test concepts, learn from the pilot, and recommend adjustments to the solution as needed
  • Supports the departmental process(es) on more complex and innovative initiatives to enhance the creation of actionable business solutions that reflect significant opportunities to grow business earnings
  • Identifies and communicates relevant consumer insights, competitive intelligence, and analytical findings to team and business stakeholders in a manner which supports the adoption of executable new business opportunities into appropriate lines of business




  • Communicates effectively to a broad audience across the enterprise, adjusting content and detail as appropriate
  • Consults with and facilitates cross-functional teams to build and execute business plans, develops relationships that bridge organizational boundaries and include individuals at multiple levels


Business Acumen

  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions
  • Champions and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives
  • Serves as a resource to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on more complex assignments/projects
  • Consults/Analyze on more complex assignments and/or projects for assigned area(s) of responsibility
  • Remains current in profession and industry trends.





  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)



  • 3 - 5+ Years’ experience in Business Analysis and/or Business Consulting in Financial Services
  • Ability to help define opportunities to enhance business products, platforms or processes
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and find the resources to clarify the ambiguity
  • Annuity product experience preferred
  • Strong project management skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop collaborative approaches
  • Demonstrates ability to identify and recommend processes improvements
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail
  • Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze information and to evaluate the implications of a course of action or solution
  • Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Finds common ground and can gain collaboration among management, colleagues and peers; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
