General Purpose of Job

As the Business Systems Analyst, you will consult/analyze and deliver on more complex Business System Analysis assignments/projects. They will act as a resource to applicable internal/external stakeholders. They will also consult and collaborate with business stakeholders to define and validate more complex information technology solutions that meet the needs, goals and objectives for the team. 

This position is being created to support and maintain integration platforms that enable strategic partners to streamline processes from submission to policy placement.  This position will partner with external vendors, strategic partners, internal business and technical teams to drive delivery of platform changes.  This position will be accountable to continue to drive the API integration strategy and electronic capability adoption.  Support will be needed for maintenance to the process that includes but is not limited to, product updates, questionnaire updates and form updates. 
The person for this role will need to be detail oriented, knowledge of high level understanding of applying for permanent life insurance, knowledge of or high level understanding of APIs used for system integration, have the ability to work with others in a team environment, development of business requirements, user acceptance testing, and ability to communicate clearly and concisely with key stakeholders

Duties and Responsibilities

Champions and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Collaborates effectively with appropriate stakeholders on more complex issues and conflicts that impact time, cost, scope, quality and risk of assigned projects.
Consults and acts as a resource to appropriate internal/external stakeholders to assess and deliver proposed more complex technical solutions which meet business requirements which may integrate process, business rules and business data with technology.
Consults and collaborates with internal and/or external stakeholders to determine more complex technical specifications from business requirements.
Consults/Analyze on more complex assignments and/or projects for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Determines and recommends the most appropriate technical response to identified more complex problems, issues and/or defects by assessing impact and prioritization.
Determines more complex IT best practices and suggests how to improve current practices.
Develops more complex technical solution requirements for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Escalates more complex issues/conflicts to management as needed.
Identifies and recommends process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
May develop more complex test plans and perform testing as needed.
May update tables as needed.
Provides a more complex understanding the business usage of information technology (IT) and helping technology add value to the business.
Provides more complex technical research and analysis to support business operations needs and presents findings to management or project leader.
Serves as a mentor and shares knowledge with junior team members.
Serves as a resource to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on more complex assignments/projects for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Using structured requirements process, clearly articulates, documents and validates more complex technical requirements.

Education

4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) - Minimum Required

3 - 5+ Years experience in business systems analysis that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position (Required ),0 - 1+ Years Review and analyze multiple complex data sources and document data elements, data flow, relationships and dependencies. (Required ),0 - 1+ Years Develop and maintain data models and associated metadata to be forward engineered on the respective database platform. (Required )

Life Insurance experience highly preferred

Work Arrangement

Hybrid/Home : Employees will work from home generally three days each week and come into a Lincoln office on a schedule their manager will help set, following any applicable in-office training period determined by their manager.
