GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

 

This position will perform and deliver on routine and non-routine assignments for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility independently in accordance with established procedures/guidelines. S/he will accurately administer more complex insurance applications from receipt to final status, ensuring fair, ethical, and timely processing.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

    • Supports and promotes change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
    • Meets or exceeds departmental quality and service standards.
    • Works overtime as needed.
    • Delivers routine work independently, in accordance with established procedures and guidelines, in a timely manner and meets deadlines appropriately.
    • Makes routine and non-routine decisions, applying limited but increasingly more discretion within role except for matters of significance which affect the business as a whole or a significant part of it, in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
    • Applies expanded knowledge obtained from the role in increasingly more complex situations and continues to acquire more knowledge to apply in role.
    • Provides a diverse range of information and performs a diverse range of tasks/transactions related to common programs and services.
    • Processes insurance applications independently from receipt to final status in accordance with established procedures and guidelines in a timely manner and meeting departmental quality/production standards.
    • Examines documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with state regulations.
    • Confirms agent licensing/appointment meets guidelines.
    • Accurately enters new case data into appropriate systems.
    • Under minimal supervision, evaluates submitted forms for: appropriate version received, proper signatures, and ensures cash with application guidelines met.
    • Works closely with underwriting team to communicate on casework and achieve goals.
    • Resolves non-routine technical and business errors/issues in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
    • Provides customer service to internal/external stakeholders; recognizes what needs to be done to meet stakeholder needs and demonstrates flexibility and responsiveness to meet those requirements.
    • Leverages experience and knowledge to work with customers and respond to requests
    • Takes ownership of issue resolution to provide seamless customer service.
    • Applies expanded knowledge to effectively and promptly communicate sensitive or technical information while adhering to HIPAA and corporate privacy guidelines.
    • May participate in department projects as needed.
    • Resolves non-routine issues independently; escalates issues/concerns to more senior team members and/or management.
    • Recognizes and researches general issues/concerns and suggests process improvements.

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

    • High School or GED (Minimum Required)
    • 2 - 3 Years of general of experience that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position. (Required)
