The Role at a Glance

This position is for a Sr. Cloud Automation Engineer with 3-5+ years’ experience in cloud compute, automation, microservices architecture, container hosting experience, and Linux systems administration. This Cloud Automation Engineer provides direction and guidance for the design, architecture, implementation and security of business-critical foundational cloud platforms. This position will provide technical leadership, subject matter expertise and direction on complex projects/initiatives for their assigned area(s) of responsibility. This position will function as a technology leader in the architecture design, planning, delivery of enterprise cloud platforms and services.

What you’ll be doing

  • AWS Administration & Automation (Landing Zones, Service Catalog, VPC creation, Control Tower, etc.)
  • Orchestration (ex. Cloud Formation, Terraform, Ansible or Ansible Tower, Puppet)
  • Python, PowerShell, or Ruby
  • Assist in design, development, maintenance and management of continuous delivery pipelines for scripting, configuration management, or automated solutions.
  • API Integrations: REST or otherwise
  • Git, Gitlab experience
  • Strong understanding of microservices, cloud and data architecture
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues related to development and the microservices stack as well as educate development organizations on cloud best practices
  • Leads research, design, architecture and implementation of the enterprise cloud services supporting related Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS) and managed platforms (PaaS).
  • Assist in training team members and other organizations on the use of scripting, configuration management, or automated solutions.
  • Assist in the creation and documentation of cloud patterns and roadmaps
  • Ensure the consistency and maintainability of cloud platforms by creating, maintaining, refining and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions.
  • Keep current with industry best practices and actively analyzes to ensure that we are making the best decisions for the enterprise.
  • Champion and enhance organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives.
  • Collaborates with technical and business staff to implement solutions that fit the requirements of the business.

What we’re looking for


  • 5-7+ Years experience in system design/architecture that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position. (Required)
  • 3-5 + Years experience cloud compute, automation, microservices architecture, container hosting experience, and Linux systems administration (Required)
  • 4 years Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience 
  • Advanced Linux Administration Experience including but not limited to:
    • Expert level RHEL 6.* and 7.*, CentOS, Amazon Linux 1 and 2
    • apt/yum Automation
    • RedHat Satellite
    • Migrations/Upgrades
    • Logical volume management
    • sssd Active Directory Integration
    • Docker or Kubernetes Administration
    • Puppet Enterprise Management and Development
    • Carries out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines. Complies with all company and site policies and procedures.



  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate (Preferred)
