The Role at a Glance
This position will lead a team that is responsible for a pricing and rating model for all the Gorup Benefits Products. They will provide subject matter expertise for the various technical systems used in pricing. They will develop and perform complex actuarial analysis and provide recommendations for leveraging the pricing model across the business unit. The model will directly feed pricing strategy decisions and support our organization's profit and growth goals.
What you'll be doing
- Leads development of robust rating model capabilities for all products and platforms to be leveraged in strategy setting, planning, small case renewals, and pricing analysis.
- Collaborates with stakeholders on recurring rating model deliverables as well as the buildout of long-term data, analysis, and reporting capabilities to help understand and manage our business.
- Analyzes and synthesizes information from multiple sources in varying degrees of completeness to support the accuracy of the rating model output.
- Monitors and analyzes developments in pricing methodology changes and determines solutions to implement within the rating model process.
- Identifies and directs the implementation of process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, supporting the automation and production capabilities of the rating model.
- Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments of the various technical systems connected to the rating model.
- Leads actuarial projects and proactively identifies challenges and resolutions.
- Provides subject matter expertise on actuarial models and assumption development and suggests new ways of managing risk.
- Supports the development of actuarial students/analysts through coaching.
- Develops strong engagement within the team and the external stakeholders aligned with Lincolns core values and Lincolns Leadership attributes.
What we’re looking for
- 4 Year/Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or other quantitative major (Required)
- 5 – 7+ Years actuarial experience directly aligned to the specific responsibilities for this position. (Required)
- Upon Hire Certifications/Licensures: (FSA)
- 2+ years leadership experience
- Group Benefits Pricing Experience (Preferred)
- Proficiency with SQL and Dataiku
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style.
- Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.

The pay range for this position is $108,501 - $195,900 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
