GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
 

The Consultant, Marketing Communications will support internal and external marketing and communication needs for the Group Protection business. They will work closely with stakeholders across the business to act consultatively in recommending communication solutions to effectively reach target audiences and achieve desired outcomes. This individual will also play a key role in executing these plans in a team environment.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 

  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
  • Champions and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Serves as a resource to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on more complex assignments/projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Identifies and recommends process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Consults/Analyze on more complex assignments and/or projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Develops and implements marketing plans, in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders, which are driven by assigned area(s) of responsibility’s business goals.
  • Serves as a resource and collaborates with internal stakeholders to develop and implement new marketing approaches which enhance and maintain the competitive position of his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility in the marketplace.
  • Partners with internal stakeholders to understand the business need, goals, and objectives for projects and/or initiatives and recommends (and implements) communication strategies to most effectively reach target audiences and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Communicates more complex marketing plans and ensures they are understood by all stakeholders and team members.
  • Analyzes and provides more complex performance metrics to track and assess the effectiveness of assigned marketing plans to management and/or appropriate internal stakeholders.
  • Manages marketing projects including but not limited to: project planning, communications planning, managing changes to the project scope, and ensures that the project plan is accurate, updated, and reflective of authorized changes.
  • Utilizes resources to ensure more complex marketing collateral is compliant with all applicable regulatory requirements and consistent with Lincoln editorial and branding standards.
  • Tracks and manages select marketing communications in an archive for internal teams, and participates in development and execution of plans to continually measure and improve effectiveness of archive.
  • Develops internal and external marketing and communication materials for project teams, including but not limited to email campaigns, frequently asked question documents, talking points, executive presentations, memos, video scripts, other written materials.
  • Plays a critical role in ensuring that messaging and communication activities related to integration are strategically aligned across Group Protection.
     

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
 

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) (Minimum Required)
  • 3 - 5+ Years experience in marketing that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position (Required)
  • Strong written communication skills (Required)
