The Role at a glance:

Our Enterprise Architecture team is growing and we are bringing on an Enterprise Systems Architect to be a catalyst of our technical transformation across all of our IT organizations.  This opportunity is available to work from home.

Background Details:  

As Lincoln continues in it’s technology transformation, our Enterprise Architecture team has been leading the way. This opportunity for a senior level architect will help with the strategy and design of the AWS platform many of our solutions are built on or integrated with.  This team sets the standard for how all IT groups build solutions on the Cloud and will create the enablement tools for other software engineers to build the solutions they need.  You’ll have the responsibility to mentor other architects as they create the standard for how solutions are built across all of IT.  If this sounds like you, read on!
 

What you'll be doing:

  • You’re going to partner and provide direction to multiple agile teams of experienced software engineers, helping enable the teams to move forward with full DevSecOps capabilities in a cloud first environment
  • You’ll have tremendous responsibility of developing and driving a strategic technical roadmap, including elimination of redundancy of applications, reducing technical risks/debt, and building the technical foundation for years to come
  • You will have the opportunity to architect and re-architect applications in an Event-Driven/Service Oriented/Cloud environment.
  • Be on the leading edge of the development of applications as Lincoln moves forward in it’s Cloud Transformation with AWS.  
     

Education

4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) - Minimum Required

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

  • Strong background in providing technical leadership to teams of application developers to drive adoption of strategic technical roadmaps.
  • 10+ years of large scale software development or application engineering with recent coding experience in two or more modern programing languages and frameworks such as: Java, JavaScript, C/C++, C#, React, Angular, Node.js, Python
  • 5+ years architecting, designing, and developing applications on the AWS platform
  • Designing and building application using container and serverless technologies
  • Experience architecting highly available systems that utilize load balancing, horizontal scalability and high availability
  • Extensive knowledge of application integration, APIs, and Event-Driven architecture patterns
  • Strong experience with Agile software development methodologies and DevOps practices such as Infrastructure as Code, Continuous Integration, and automated deployments
  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience 
  • Proven ability to collaborate with internal teams, business partners and stakeholders, instilling a collaborative transparent culture that allows the team to be successful and ensures work aligns with strategic and tactical goals.


Nice-to-haves:

  • AWS Cloud certifications
  • Experience leading teams with full AWS development lifecycle delivery, including Infrastructure Provisioning, Automation and Security
