The Role

An exciting full stack developer position has recently opened in the Risk Systems team, we are looking for creative and passionate technologists to develop cutting edge cloud native solutions and high-performance computing (HPC) for Market Risk Management.

This role is a unique opportunity to be part of Lincoln’s best in class hedge program that implements the latest technologies and concepts (AWS, GPU HPC Grids, serverless applications, microservices, CI/CD) to manage the variable, fixed, and index variable annuity risk. Join a highly collaborative, and high functioning team who partner with internal (MRM) and external (IT, Annuities, Life, and RPS lines of business) and use your software engineering skills to achieve strategic goals.

What you'll be doing:

  • Developing object-oriented code in Python and C++ for middleware and back end solutions
  • Utilizing AWS CDK and/or yaml-based deployment for infrastructure provisioning
  • Implementing modern serverless applications using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, S3, and RDS
  • Owning and managing the full lifecycle of application development; from designing, writing, testing, building, deploying, to monitoring
  • Using tools such as GitLab (Issues, GitLab CI/CD Pipelines) to maintain source code, drive operations, collaboration and code reviews to ensure the development of high-performance, scalable, and resilient software components
  • Developing and maintaining APIs that use MYSQL and other data sources across the enterprise.
  • Using JavaScript (Angular JS / React) to build a modern front-end
  • Conducting unit test, regression tests and follows industry and security best practices.


4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) - Minimum Required

What we're looking for:

Must Haves:

  • 5 - 7+ years of experience implementing object-oriented production quality applications
  • 3+ years of experience with Python, and JavaScript Framework (Angular JS, React or equivalent)
  • 2+ years AWS serverless development and architecture experience implementing Lambda, API Gateway with Python as supported language
  • 2+ years CI/CD DevOps experience such as GitLab Pipelines
  • 2+ years of experience secure web services development using OAuth
  • 2+ years of experience debugging AWS native applications using CloudWatch/Splunk
  • Experience with microservice design (Service-Oriented Architecture) and RESTful web services
  • Experience working on fully-dedicated agile teams

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with microservice design (Service-Oriented Architecture) and RESTful APIs
  • Proficiency with Linux and .Net Core
  • Experience implementing different software design patterns, ability to demonstrate software engineering best practices, secure SDLC practices
  • Experience refactoring, supporting, and developing legacy code


Work Arrangement:

Hybrid/Office : Employees will work in a Lincoln office generally three days each week and work from home the remainder of the days, following any applicable in-office training period determined by their manager.
