The Role at a Glance:

As the VP, Strategic Planning Management, you will provide strategic leadership to achieve key business objectives for your assigned area(s) of responsibility. You will develop and lead the execution of strategic initiatives, which have substantial impact on business growth, stability, and profitability. In this position you will also provide thought leadership to key stakeholders.

What you'll be doing:

  • Maintaining knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assessing the impact, and collaborating with executive/senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future strategies.
  • Leading the identification, development, and implementation of strategic process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality across the team, business unit, and/or the organization.
  • Leading and enhancing organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives.
  • Providing training and development opportunities, including stretch assignments, for team members and giving honest and open feedback to aid in the development of talent.
  • Leading, establishing and implementing priorities, performance goals and objectives to achieve key business results.
  • Guiding and evaluating departmental performance and taking appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards.
  • Providing thought leadership and functional expertise to internal/external stakeholders.
  • Contributing to business unit/operational and enterprise strategy creation.
  • Ensuring that top talent is hired and retained.
  • Building organizational capability.
  • Leading/executing approved strategy.
  • Leading the execution and implementation of key strategic initiatives and plans by partnering with business leaders and senior management.
  • Overseeing and leading the strategic planning process by ensuring actionable plans are reflective of the most significant strategies of each business segment and are aligned with corporate & divisional strategy and financial & business objectives.
  • Ensuring that risks, exposure, and key business issues are identified, properly analyzed and resolved. Facilitating discussions and providing expertise to stakeholders to assess how environmental factors and risks should be integrated into strategic plans.
  • Developing and implementing medium and long-term growth strategies in consultation with senior management. Establishing frameworks to align the strategy.
  • Managing strategic initiative budget and resources, aligning spend with program commitments and correlating spend with results.
  • Leading the comprehensive cost-benefit analysis for strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborating with IT and all business functions to secure project resources and ensure alignment among programs and technology.
  • Providing thought leadership to senior management and key internal stakeholders on implementation and execution strategies for specific initiatives.
  • Leading the identification of unique marketplace patterns and development of solutions to take advantage of hidden opportunities in a new way.
  • Ensuring the compiling and analyzing of key performance indicators and metrics.
  • Carrying out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines.  Complying with all company and site policies and procedures.
  • Performing other duties as required.

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)
  • 12+ Years of experience in strategic planning and/or corporate development, including 5+ years of management, strategy, and influencing senior management/critical stakeholders.
  • Confident, comfortable communicator with Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed, and logical discussions/presentations.
  • Advocates effectively, readily command attention and respect in groups as demonstrated by people listening to and getting on board with initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, and implement processes improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully hire, retain, develop, and coach staff via a culture of real-time performance feedback, with ability to build both technical and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior/executive management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.
  • Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

 

Work Arrangement

Hybrid/Office : Employees will work in a Lincoln office on average more days per week.
