The Role at a Glance
As the AVP of Capital Management, you will provide subject matter expertise and direction on complex projects/initiatives for the Capital Management team in Randor, CT; Fort Wayne, IN; Greensboro, NC or Hatford, CT.
Background Details
As the AVP of Capital Markets, you will prepare, analyze and report on complex financial information and provide management with actionable insights and recommendations to help the company effectively manage its capital position under multiple frameworks, e.g. GAAP, Statutory, and Rating Agency capital models, and allocate excess capital to the highest and best use. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of the overall capital management strategy and frameworks to drive decisions.
What you'll be doing
- You will support the company’s efforts to effectively manage its capital position.
- You will research, analyze, recommend, lead, and implement solutions to complex problems impacting the company’s capital position.
- You will assist in reviewing forecasts for capital generation and allocation under multiple views over a wide range of scenarios.
- You will compare actual results vs. expectations, highlighting key drivers of differences.
- You will support the company’s efforts to understand the potential impact of and respond to regulatory changes that may affect its capital position.
- You will support annual Financial Plan & quarterly earnings process.
- You will prepare exhibits and presentations on a variety of topics related to capital management.
- You will assist in evaluating the impact of departmental and/or enterprise initiatives on the company’s capital position.
- You will conduct analyses to evaluate the effectiveness of capital management approaches and developing recommendations to improve the enterprise’s capital position strategically and continuously.
- You will anticipate and provide strategies/solutions to complex capital management challenges.
- You will identify and monitor capital & liquidity risks and developing mitigation plans as needed.
What we’re looking for
Must-haves:
- 10+ Years of experience in Finance, including 8+ years of capital management experience that directly relates to the specific responsibilities of this position.
- 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)
- Ability to effectively communicate via writing/verbal while being able to also present and demonstrate ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed, and logical discussions/presentations.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail
- Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches
- Significant experience in Excel and Power Point
Nice-to-haves:
- Life Insurance industry experience and/or understanding and knowledge of Statutory and GAAP financials for life insurers
- CFA charter holder or progress towards CFA designation
- Actuarial credentials (ASA or FSA) or progress towards ASA or FSA
- Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau) and data management tools (e.g. Dataiku)

Pay Range: $118,300 - $215,800
Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
