The Role at a Glance

As the AVP, Capital Markets and Liquidity Risk, you will provide leadership, direction and functional expertise on complex projects/initiatives for their group. You will also provide direction and expertise on capital markets & liquidity scenarios and risks to evaluate the enterprise's liquidity position and assess future capital market transactions. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of the overall capital markets & liquidity management strategy 

What you'll be doing

  • Designs and executes liquidity stress scenarios, including policy lapse events, rate and equity shocks, ALM testing to assess potential funding gaps under base and adverse scenarios.  
  • Partners with business units and operations to evaluate liquidity risks in product design, investment strategies, and liquidity planning.  
  • Develops and produces periodic liquidity reports capturing current liquidity status and risks. 
  • Enhance the company’s liquidity risk management framework through cash forecasting and contingency planning.  
  • Supports the analysis and execution process of various public capital markets transactions including senior unsecured notes, funding agreements and holding company debt issuances.  
  • Acts as a subject matter expert on capital markets & liquidity management trends, issues, standards, and legislation & can translate their implications to key stakeholders. 
  • Conducts analyses to evaluate the effectiveness of capital & liquidity management approaches and develops recommendations to strategically and continuously improve the enterprise's capital position. 
  • Develops and maintains policies and procedures for their assigned area(s) of responsibility in compliance with internal controls, legislation, SOX, and treasury principles. 
  • Directs, conducts and/or participates in capital & liquidity management projects. 
  • Ensures that risks, exposure, and key business issues are identified, properly accounted for and resolved. 
  • Oversees and leads stress testing of potential adverse liquidity conditions to evaluate the solvency of the enterprise.  

What we’re looking for

Must-Haves 

  • 10+ Years of experience in risk management, financial analysis, or a related field, preferably within the financial services or investment banking industry.
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in finance, statistics, economics or similar fields. 
  • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis, reporting, and presentation development
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills 
  • Leadership experience with the ability to influence management/critical stakeholders 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a changing work environment 

 

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM, FSA, CQF)
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Dataiku or Tableau
  • Knowledge of insurance capital structures

The pay range for this position is $125,800 - $229,100 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees.  In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual.  Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
