The Role at a Glance
The Enterprise Architecture Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the methods, processes, metrics, and key data systems that support the Enterprise Architecture team. This role will report directly to the Chief Architect. Overall responsibilities include overseeing major planning efforts for the EA team, communication of our overall architectural vision to business and technology stakeholders, and owning the delivery of Architectural governance for the Lincoln Financial Group Enterprise.
What you'll be doing
- Develop and manage the team’s mission, strategy, and implementation plan
- Define and manage Enterprise Architecture value metrics
- Oversee the delivery and evolution of Lincoln’s Application Portfolio Management information and tooling
- Mentor and manage a team of 4 staff members to support the overall deliverables and mission of the EA Operations team
- Implement linkages between Lincoln’s project development lifecycle with the standard processes of the Architecture team to manage the ongoing workload of project-assigned Architects
- Oversee the evolution and ongoing delivery of the Enterprise Architecture governance model (example: technology acquisition decision rights policies and processes, Architecture Review Board)
- Project-manage the overall Enterprise Architecture strategic plan
- Collaborate with managers and HR leaders to develop and evolve role definitions, skill competencies, and a career progression model for Architect roles
- Oversee and deliver the EA communication and marketing plan that describes the overall long term technology direction for Lincoln Financial Group
What we’re looking for
Must-haves:
- 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Proven ability to collaborate with internal teams, business partners and stakeholders, instilling a collaborative transparent culture that allows the team to be successful and ensures work aligns with strategic and tactical goals.
- Strong background in providing technical leadership to teams of application developers to drive adoption of strategic technical roadmaps.
- 10+ years of large scale software development or application engineering with recent coding experience in two or more modern programing languages and frameworks such as: Java, JavaScript, C/C++, C#, React, Angular, Node.js, Python
- 5+ years architecting, designing, and developing applications on the AWS platform
- Designing and building application using container and serverless technologies
- Experience architecting highly available systems that utilize load balancing, horizontal scalability and high availability
- Extensive knowledge of application integration, APIs, and Event-Driven architecture patterns
- Substantial mixture of Business and Information Technology experience
- Experience leading large business transformation programs
- Relevant industry experience in Financial Services and/or Insurance
- Experience working with business strategy teams and executive leaders
- The ability to apply architectural principles to potential business models and solutions
Nice-to-haves:
- AWS Cloud certifications
- Experience leading teams with full AWS development lifecycle delivery, including Infrastructure Provisioning, Automation and Security
Level: M4
Pay Range: $132,601 - $220,000
Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
