The Role at a Glance
The AVP & Actuary, MoneyGuard Valuation is responsible for quarterly reserve reporting, annual asset adequacy testing, ALM projections, and other model projections on the MoneyGuard block of business. In this role you will Analyze and explain reserve and financial results for the MoneyGuard inforce segment. You will also own and execute actuarial reporting processes in a controlled and efficient manner.
What you'll be doing
•Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for GAAP, STAT, and TAX reserving for UL/LTC combo products, assessing the impact of changes in product design and reserve reporting requirements.
•Identifies and directs the implementation of process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality across Valuation and Modeling reporting.
•Provides subject matter expertise to team members and internal/external stakeholders on MoneyGuard reserving.
•Provides training and development opportunities, including stretch assignments, for team members and gives honest and open feedback to aid in the development of talent.
•Directs and evaluates individual/team performance and takes appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards.
•Establishes and implements priorities, performance goals and objectives to ensure group results for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
•Directs and provides leadership to continually improve the reserve analysis capability and ability to explain and manage financial results.
•Ensures that top talent is hired and retained, building organizational capability.
•Carries out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines, along with applicable actuarial and financial reporting requirements. Complies with all company and site policies and procedures.
•Remains current in profession and industry trends.
What we’re looking for
Must-haves:
•4 Year/Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) (Minimum Required).
•10+ years of experience in data analytics and engineering that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position
•Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA)
•Experience with Life Insurance Valuation, Modeling, and/or Financial Reporting preferred.
•Experience managing actuarial staff preferred.

•Ability to work with others in a team environment with a collaborative style.
•Demonstrated ability to identify and recommend processes improvements.
•Demonstrated ability to successfully hire, retain, develop, and coach staff via a culture of real-time performance feedback, with ability to build both technical and leadership skills.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and actuarial software (MG ALFA)

The pay range for this position is $146,501 - $264,700 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
