The Role at a Glance

As the Actuarial Analyst II Annuities / RPS valuation and modeling, you will play an integral role in the production and reporting of a variety of modeling exercises including Asset/Liability Management, Economic Capital, C3-Phase 1 and Reserve and Asset Adequacy Testing.  The role provides exposure to all annuity products, including VA, fixed, fixed index and RPS products. Modeling exercises are completed regularly throughout the year and will be balanced with the opportunity to assist in ad hoc requests.  This individual interacts with other ARVM actuaries, Risk Management, the Appointed Actuary, FP&A and MRM. 

What you'll be doing:

  • Production Reporting:  Function in a production environment with tight audit controls and orderly documentation. Maintain a strong emphasis on attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness of reporting.  Understand drivers of change from the models and improve methods to effectively communicate results. Balance priorities of various ad hoc requests.
  • Modeling: Gain an understanding of the MG-ALFA platform used for annuity models and identify areas where modeling can be improved.  
  • Quality Improvements: Explore and purse automation efforts to increase efficiency, gain insight into the analysis of results, reduce the potential for error, and improve presentation of results. Embrace a continuous improvement mindset to constantly innovate and enhance all aspects of the production processes.
  • Team Environment:  Work with a team of professionals on a variety of projects including the production, analysis, and communication of results from the models.
  • Relationship Building:  Deliver informative analysis and results from the models by partnering and collaborating with other functional areas of the company including Risk Management, the Appointed Actuary team, FP&A, and MRM. 
  • Regulation: Maintain and expand knowledge of regulations and best practices. Stay current on potential regulation changes within the industry.

The Actuarial Development Program (ADP) at Lincoln Financial Group is an industry-leading program that demonstrates Lincoln Financial’ s commitment to creating highly qualified business leaders.  As an ADP participant, you’ll be able to explore your unique interests while developing the essential actuarial, technical, management, communication, and leadership skills you need to succeed.
Program participants receive up to 175 hours of company time to study per exam sitting. Lincoln Financial Group purchases required exam materials and pays exam fees in advance for each program participant.

What we're looking for:

Must have:

  • 1-3 years of experience in Actuarial positions that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities of the position.
  • At least 3 SOA exams passed.
  • Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or other quantitative major is required.

Nice to have: 

  • MG-ALFA experience preferred but not required
  • Dataiku, Tableau or similar experience preferred but not required

Work Arrangement:

Hybrid/Home : Employees will work from home generally three days each week and come into a Lincoln office on a schedule their manager will help set, following any applicable in-office training period determined by their manager.
