The Role at a Glance

This position provides support and coordination of financial operations for the insurance company separate accounts and LVIP- Lincoln Variable Insurance Products Trust mutual fund complex.

What you'll be doing

•    Consults/Analyze on assignments and/or projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
•    Champions for organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
•    Identifies, recommends, and implements process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
•    Serves as a resource to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on assignments/projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
•    Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) or responsibility, assess the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
•    Contributes to the development and implementation of continuous process improvement plans to achieve efficient and productive financial operations by working directly with management, auditors, IT support, and/or outside consultants.  
•    Develops and implements effective internal control processes and procedures to ensure accurate separate account financial data.
•    Provides peer coaching and/or on-the-job training as requested by colleagues and/or manager to build organizational capability.
•    Act as a subject matter expert for the FAO team. This includes assisting with issue resolution, special requests, process enhancements, projects, etc.
•    Accepts ownership for role in achieving team performance; contributes to shared tasks or projects before being asked or required by events.
•    Recognizes the potential conflicts of interest inherent in some job functions and acts in the best interest of the customer (i.e., the investor).
•    Identifies potential conflicts of interest and recommends corrective actions that are in the best interest of the customer.
 

What we’re looking for

•    Experience Undergraduate degree or 4+ years of comparable work experience
•    1-3+ progressively increasing industry related work experience within mutual fund accounting/administration or public administration that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position 
•    Ability to read, analyze and interpret both internal and external documents such as general media/publications, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, policies, proposals, and standard operating procedures.
•    Apply concepts such as probability, statistics, modeling, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.
•    Works with mathematical concepts such as averages and/or variances.
•    Ability to analyze information and to evaluate the implications of a course of action or solution.
•    Ability to interpret and apply common sense understanding to carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
•    Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
•    Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
•    Evaluate trends in data or information.
•    Demonstrates the ability to use sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information.
•    Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail
•    Strong project management skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
•    Demonstrates ability to identify and recommend processes improvements.
•    Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop collaborative approaches.
•    Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with collaborative style.
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
•    Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements.
•    Ability to perform under stress in cases of emergency, critical or hazardous situations.
•    Ability to work with others in a team environment.
•    Demonstrated success developing and implementing continuous process improvement strategies.
•    Accounting, internal control and data analysis functions.
•    Understanding of GAAP accounting for investments; working knowledge of separate account statutory accounting for investments.
•    Understanding of financial and regulatory reporting requirements for registered management investment companies (i.e., registered mutual funds and separate accounts)
•    Ability to write reports and business correspondence, policies and proposals
•    Experience with financial software packages (such as PeopleSoft, Business Objects, and Hyperion) is a plus.
•    Experience writing SQL or VBA is a plus.
•    This position may require the individual to be able to work outside of the standard business operating hours

Pay Range: 60,000-70,000 

 

Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees.  In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual.  Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
