The Role at a Glance

SVP & Head of HR, Workplace Solutions. This is a dual-reporting role—to the EVP & Chief People, Communications and Corporate Services Officer and to the EVP & President of Workplace Solutions—reflecting both the enterprise-wide HR mandate and the deep business partnership this role demands.

As the divisional CHRO for Lincoln’s largest business, this leader will architect and deliver the full spectrum of HR services to WPS—partnering directly with senior business leaders to accelerate workforce transformation, build an inclusive and high-performance culture, and develop the talent pipeline that will power WPS’s next chapter of growth.

What you'll be doing

Must Haves:

 

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the EVP & President of WPS and the broader Workplace Solutions leadership team on all matters related to talent, culture, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Translate WPS’s business strategy into integrated people strategies that address workforce transformation, organizational design, and change management across a ~4,500-person enterprise.
  • Represent WPS in enterprise-wide HR leadership forums, contributing to Lincoln-wide talent and culture initiatives while advocating for the unique needs of the division.
  • Act as the WPS HR executive sponsor for AI, automation, and digital adoption across people processes and the broader workforce.

People & Organizational Excellence

  • Provide direct leadership to the WPS HR Business Partner team, ensuring high-quality, proactive partnership to business leaders at every level of the organization.
  • Exercise matrix leadership across Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Employee Relations, and Communications professionals aligned to WPS, ensuring these functions operate as a cohesive, client-focused team.
  • Drive a robust talent review, succession planning, and development agenda within WPS—building bench strength for critical roles and accelerating the growth of high-potential leaders.
  • Champion workforce planning and organizational design in support of WPS’s continued integration of Group Protection and Retirement Plan Services.
  • Partner with Finance and WPS leadership to drive productivity, span/layer optimization, and workforce cost effectiveness while protecting critical capabilities.

Culture & Employee Experience

  • Lead the ongoing development and reinforcement of a high-performance, inclusive culture within WPS that is aligned to Lincoln’s enterprise values and “One Team Lincoln” ethos.
  • Steward employee engagement and listening strategies—translating data and insights into targeted action plans that drive measurable improvements in engagement, retention, and belonging

 

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent professional certification is a plus.
  • 15 or more years of progressive HR leadership experience, with a substantial portion in roles of equivalent senior scope and complexity.
  • Demonstrated experience as a divisional or business-unit CHRO, SVP, or VP of HR supporting a large, complex organization (ideally 3,000+ employees), with full accountability for HR strategy and delivery.

Level: CLG 

 

The pay range for this position is 325,000.00 - 415,000.00 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees.  In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual.  Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
