As the Senior Vice President, you will lead the development and execution of enterprise-wide asset allocation investment strategies that drive long-term value across both existing portfolios and new business initiatives. This role is responsible for identifying and implementing investment strategies that align with the company’s risk appetite, regulatory framework, and profitability objectives. You will play a critical role in shaping the investment direction for the organization, ensuring optimal asset-liability management, and supporting new business pricing decisions.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Seasoned strategic partner who has experience with insurance businesses and investment teams in developing, executing, and monitoring investment and portfolio strategies.
  • Can build and lead a consensus driven function. This position is highly cross-functional, requiring exceptional ability to build consensus and collaborate across Finance, Risk Management, Investments, business unit leadership, and other stakeholders in senior management.
  • Experienced leader who has deep expertise with integrating portfolio construction, new money deployment, and in-force optimization, triangulating liquidity and credit risk tolerances with capital optimization over time.

What you'll be doing

Strategic Asset Allocation Leadership

  • Lead the design, enhancement, and management of the Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) framework for all legal entities and business lines, ensuring alignment with enterprise risk appetite, capital, liquidity, and sustainability objectives.
  • Oversee the integration of SAA into both new business pricing models and in-force portfolio optimization, collaborating with actuarial, ALM, and product teams to ensure robust asset-liability matching and capital efficiency.
  • Partner with our asset teams to identify and evaluate new asset classes and investment strategies that meet evolving business and regulatory needs, including those specific to US and Bermuda insurance regimes.
  • Lead and direct team members in the development and ongoing evolution of the SAA.

Portfolio Optimization and Risk Management

  • Oversee the development and continuous improvement of quantitative models and scenario analysis tools to optimize portfolio allocations under various economic and regulatory scenarios (e.g., forward-looking views, stress testing).
  • Lead a team of portfolio managers who are responsible for investment strategy and portfolio management for our insurance business lines.

Stakeholder Engagement and Leadership

  • Serve as a key liaison to asset specialists, liability teams, risk, treasury, and actuarial functions, fostering cross-functional collaboration to achieve enterprise objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, promoting a culture of innovation, analytical rigor, and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate complex investment strategies and recommendations clearly and persuasively to senior stakeholders and external partners.

What we’re looking for

  • Advanced degree in finance, economics, actuarial science, quantitative discipline, or related field.
  • 10 years of experience in investment strategy, asset allocation, and/or insurance portfolio management, with significant leadership responsibility.
  • Demonstrated expertise in US and Bermuda insurance regulatory regimes, including capital frameworks (e.g., US RBC, Bermuda Solvency II), and strong knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting for insurance companies.
  • Deep understanding of insurance balance sheets, liability structures, and asset-liability management (ALM).
  • Proven ability to identify and evaluate new asset classes and investment strategies in response to changing business and regulatory environments.
