General Purpose of Job
The Senior Budget/Expense Analyst will be a member of the Budgeting and Expense Management team, focused on supporting the enterprise expenses. S/he will prepare, analyze and report on business line budgeted, forecasted and actual results and provide management with a financial perspective for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility. This role offers high visibility working directly with Senior Leadership, and has room for growth in a dynamic team with a great culture.
What you'll be doing
• Prepares, analyzes and presents on complex financial information for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Gain an understanding of and be able to perform complex expense specific responsibilities such as forecasting, variance analysis, unit costing, allocations and others.
• Interact and communicate with Finance and Business Unit financial management, including senior management
• Advises and provides subject matter expertise to management and applicable stakeholders on key financial analytics and expense trends.
• Champions and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Identifies, recommends, and leads process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility
• Maintains knowledge on current and emerging trends related to industry trends, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
• Provides subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Provides direction on complex assignments, projects, and/or initiatives to build and enhance the capability of their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Prepares, analyzes and reports on complex financial information for their assigned area(s) of responsibility across multiple bases of accounting (GAAP and STAT).
• Provides management with a complex and comprehensive financial perspective, including potential mitigation solutions, for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Evaluates financial information to develop and deliver complex, standard, and ad-hoc financial analysis
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to adapt the communication of complex items to suit different audiences.
• Strong presentation skills, including developing powerpoint presentations, with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed and logical discussions/presentations.
• Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention
• Serves as a subject matter expert to team members and internal stakeholders on complex analysis of financial information.
• Directs and/or participates in departmental or enterprise wide projects.
What we’re looking for
• 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) (Minimum Required)
• 5 – 7+ Years experience in financial analysis that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position (Required)
• Confident and comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed and logical
• Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop collaborative approaches.
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed and logical discussions/presentations.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Microsoft Powerpoint
• Tableau/PowerBI experience
• Apply concepts such as probability, statistics, modeling, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.
• Works with mathematical concepts such as averages and/or variances.

Pay Range: $87,700 - $159,900
Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
