The Role at a Glance:

Are you looking to join an innovative, digital first marketing team focused on creating customized content and strategic delivery leveraging multiple mediums, within a test and learn approach?  We are seeking a Social Media Marketing Consultant to define, develop, execute, and measure the strategic vision for Lincoln Financial Distributors’ (LFD) and Lincoln Financial Network’s (LFN) social channels.


Working across our agile pods, you will serve as the social media subject matter expert, sharing best practices, trends, and traction to influence the social media content and strategy for Lincoln Financial Network, Lincoln Financial Distributors (and its product lines Annuities, Life Insurance, Long-term Care Insurance, Small Market Retirement Plan Services), and our Value-Add Programs.  In partnership with internal and agency teams, you will manage the campaign lifecycle from content ideation, creation of social media plans, the setting of goals, & measurement of success. #LI-HYBRID

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop, implement & measure various social engagement solutions, such as social media campaigns and programs targeting specific demographics. Be proactive in keeping current with social media trends & provide updates to teams on best practices.
  • Conduct competitive and target audience research to identify social channel growth opportunities that expand LFD’s and LFN’s reach and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop overarching content solutions that take into consideration how content should be presented on different digital properties, to different audiences, & creates strong alignment to business line marketing initiatives & seasonal relevance.
  • Manage the company's social media presence across all platforms, ensuring that content posted is engaging, on-brand & performance measured.
  • Creates documented promotional solutions for the content across all company social media channels, company web sites, as well as the seeding of content on relevant external web sites.
  • Maintain knowledge on trends across social platforms and partners to develop strategy on channel expansion.
  • Develop a comprehensive analysis of how content performs, both at a channel view and holistically by content theme (e.g. social media, company web sites, seeded content, etc.).
  • Supports the product lines in the production of a company content library, ensuring that a wide range of wholesaler content is created, updated, and properly tagged.
  • Ensure the necessary and appropriate content (video assets, social media campaigns, articles, etc.) is available to drive engagement with our various B2B audiences.
  • Grow social media presence by leveraging paid promotions to amplify content on social media (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.).
  • Engage our social communities by providing content that is applicable to the B2B audiences, and refine our approach based on ROI.
  • Develop insights and make recommendations for future enhancements & changes to our content strategy based on those metrics.
  • Monitor social conversations to ensure the company is present in relevant conversations.
  • Collaborates with appropriate internal stakeholders to develop SEO optimized content.
  • Create a system to measure the ROI of company's content efforts.
  • Reviews posts created by business line communications and marketing partners.
  • Employs paid content solutions when necessary.

What we're looking for:

  • 3 - 5+ Years of relevant work experience in marketing and advertising.
  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment; Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style.
  • Maintains excellent writing & language skills.
  • Proficient in content marketing theory and application.
  • Demonstrates creativity and functional expertise in Social Media.
  • Experience in sourcing and managing content development and publishing.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship building skills are a requirement.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of principles of SEO including keyword research. Highly knowledgeable in the principles of “Search & Social”.
  • Exhibits the ability to jump from the creative side of marketing to analytical side, able to demonstrate why their ideas are analytically sound.
  • Demonstrates winning Social Customer Service techniques. Possesses great ability to identify potential negative or crisis situation and apply conflict resolution principles to mitigate issues.
