The Role at a Glance

The Financial Analysis Specialist will play a key supporting role within the Distribution Analytics function. This position supports two Senior Analysts who serve as primary strategic partners to the Heads of Insurance Solutions Distribution and Retirement Solutions Distribution. The Analyst will focus on Private Market Funds sales forecasting as well as supporting ISD / RDS in data preparation, recurring reporting, pipeline support, and assisting with forecasting and planning cycles. This role is designed for someone early in their career who is eager to build technical and analytical skills, learn the product lines they support, and contribute to high-quality sales planning and forecasting outputs.

What you'll be doing

 

Sales Forecasting Support

  • Assist Director (LFD Finance) with the generation of a monthly Private Market Funds sales forecast. 
  • Assist the team analysts with the generation of sales forecasts for RSD (Annuities, 401(k)) & ISD (Life, MoneyGuard (LTC), and Executive Benefits).
  • Run forecast scenarios through Anaplan, ensuring correct inputs and assumptions.
  • Support updates to forecast assumptions, trends, and variance explanations.
  • Assist with documentation of forecast changes and preparation of materials for Product Heads and Distribution leadership.

Sales Planning Support

  • Support development of Private Market Funds, RSD & ISD annual and quarterly sales plans, goals, and projections.
  • Assist with preparation of planning materials & outputs, including tables, charts, and supporting analysis.
  • Help model scenario analyses evaluating distribution strategies, product mix shifts, and plan design considerations.

Reporting & Data Management

  • Produce daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance reports supporting both Senior Analysts.
  • Maintain and distribute dashboards tracking production, pipeline, and key performance metrics across product lines.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of recurring reports using standardized processes and quality checks.
  • Prepare and validate datasets used for forecasting, planning, and leadership updates.
  • Pull and organize data from internal systems including CRM, policy admin systems, Anaplan, and sales reporting platforms.
  • Produce the monthly Enterprise Sales Report

Operational & Ad-Hoc Support

  • Respond to ad-hoc data and analysis requests from Senior Analysts or Distribution leaders.
  • Assist with preparation of presentations, executive summaries, and leadership analysis materials.
  • Support process improvements across reporting, forecasting, and planning workflows.
  • Collaborate with Anaplan, Sales Operations, and Distribution teams to maintain data quality and alignment.

What we’re looking for

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Analytics, Business, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of data or business analytics experience preferred (internships acceptable).
  • Strong Excel skills including pivot tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and basic modeling.
  • Ability to work with large datasets across multiple systems.
  • High attention to detail with strong accuracy standards.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to summarize insights clearly.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn product fundamentals across annuities, 401k, life, LTC, and executive benefits.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge & experience with some or all products that LFD distributes: Private Market Funds, Annuities, 401k Plans, Life Insurance, MoneyGuard (long term care) and Executive Benefits.
  • Experience with Anaplan, Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics tools.
  • Prior experience in sales reporting, financial analysis, or insurance/retirement product environments.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and production data sources.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting multiple stakeholders.

The pay range for this position is $55,700 - $100,200 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees.  In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual.  Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
