The Role

This position will provide support for topics that have direct impact on the company’s compliance day-to-day operations.  S/he will be responsible for timely submission of business data requests, data review, and data submission to regulatory authorities to ensure compliance. S/he will serve as the Group Protection compliance statutory reporting liaison between the company and state regulators and will be responsible for proper documentation and reporting to leadership. S/he will also serve as the secondary compliance support for the dental product. S/he will have other compliance related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and prepare a complex catalog of compliance reports by deadlines
  • Collaborate with appropriate internal stakeholders to request and receive data necessary for compliance reporting
  • Manage and assist with dental product projects, research, and meetings where compliance support is necessary
  • Maintain knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assess the impact, and collaborate with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions
  • Work to understand applicability of new requirements and regulations as they relate to state data submission
  • Identifies complex risks and recommends remediation plans to management
  • Establish strong relationships with internal and external partners to foster a culture of compliance, focusing on group insurance compliance requirements
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and primary resource for statutory reports
  • Assist with internal department reporting requirements and legislation administration
  • Identify and recommend process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility
  • Serve as a resource and consult with internal/external stakeholders on a broad variety of compliance matters/issues related to his/her assigned area(s) or responsibility
  • Assist with other compliance team duties as assigned

 

Education

  • 4 Year Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience (Minimum Required)

     

Experience

  • 1 to 3+ Years of experience that aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position
  • Critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail
  • Understanding of the importance of compliance with state and federal regulations and guidelines
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style
  • Demonstrates the ability and eagerness to learn new areas of expertise
  • Demonstrates the ability to use sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information
  • Complies with all company and site policies and procedures
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Demonstrates ability to performs other duties as required
