The Role at a Glance:

The Private Debt Strategies Specialist will be responsible for the analysis and reporting of the general account private debt (Investment Grade and Middle Market Loans) portfolio and supporting portfolio managers in your day-to-day management of the portfolio. You will also be a key contributor in the preparation of Fixed Income Team related communications and presentations at the enterprise wide level.

What you'll be doing:

  • Provides support to manager in daily management, oversight, and reporting of the Private Investment Grade and Middle Market Loan portfolio.
  • Builds and maintains portfolio monitoring reports and analyzes data utilizing Tableau and Excel to support key stakeholders’ decision making.
  • Comfortable taking the lead in preparing PowerPoint presentations for analysis findings and recommendations.
  • Maintains the private debt deal log, monitors fundings, and tracks deal features such as covenants, capital structures, sponsors, etc.
  • Coordinates internally with operations on trade setups and corrections.
  • Serves as a resource to Fixed Income team members on team projects and presentations such as Investment Committee, Troubled and Watched Committee, etc.
  • Identifies process improvements and develops procedures for increased automation.
  • Promotes and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.

What we’re looking for:

Must-haves:

  • 2 - 3+ Years’ Experience in investments, portfolio analysis or investment research that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position 
  • 2 - 3+ Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) 
  • Advanced MS PowerPoint and Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, queries)
  • Genuine interest in an investment portfolio management career
  • Solid project management skills including critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment

Nice-to-haves:

  • Demonstrated excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail
  • Demonstrated solid project management skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
