The Role at a Glance

 

As a Project Management Specialist, you will be responsible for providing project management support to one or more Project Managers and/or may be responsible for leading low complexity projects.
This role operates within a cross-functional environment and supports initiatives involving Finance, IT, and other enterprise support areas. The Project Management Specialist will help drive execution across multiple stakeholder groups, ensuring alignment, transparency, and delivery of project milestones in accordance with business needs and compliance expectations.

 

What you'll be doing

 

•    Managing and delivering low complexity projects, conforming to project management standards and processing as designated, including applicable change control and project management methodology.
•    Partnering with Project Managers to gather estimates, then building and maintaining the project schedule in appropriate schedule management tool.
•    Applying foundational knowledge to provide recommendations for best methods for reporting and displaying data that enables the business areas to best manage their departments/teams.
•    Providing resource management support by updating project resource allocations and milestones within the project schedule based on feedback from the Project Manager.
•    Creating agendas for meetings, documenting issues, actions and decisions from meetings, and publishing meeting minutes.
•    Creating presentation materials for project kick off, status and steering committee meetings.
•    Assisting in the collection, recording, tracking and analysis of project effort and financial information.
•    Maintaining project issue, risk, decision, and change logs.
•    Maintaining project artifacts in the project repository.
•    Assisting in the collection of project metrics and the creation of portfolio dashboards.
•    Engaging and coordinating with internal support teams (e.g. Finance, Procurement, IT, Risk, InfoSec, Legal) to ensure proper due diligence, compliance and project enablement.
•    Promoting and enhancing organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives.
•    Performing and delivering on routine assignments/projects while simultaneously leveraging and applying knowledge.
•    Identifying and communicating to management process improvements that reduce workloads or improve quality.
•    Making positive contributions demonstrated by making suggestions for improvement, learning new skills, procedures and processes.

 

What we’re looking for

 

•    1-3+ Years experience in project management that is directly aligned to the specific responsibilities for this role. 
•    Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. 
•    Analytical skills and close attention to detail is necessary.
•    Effective verbal and written communication skills.
•    Ability to adapt quickly in a changing work environment.
•    Strong relationship and project management skills including critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment and meet deadlines.
•    Ability to build and sustain strong partnerships with business and IT.
•    Strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.

The pay range for this position is $53,500 - $96,300 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees.  In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual.  Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
