We are excited to bring on a Procurement Strategic Sourcing Sr Consultant to join our Procurement Team in a remote environment.

 

The Role at a Glance

 

The Sr Consultant, Procurement Strategic Sourcing role will function as the subject matter expert in developing and executing procurement sourcing strategies for categories within, and in support of, our commercial lines of business. These may include, but are not limited to the following: Product Development, Strategic Partnerships / Co-Marketing, business area SaaS tools, and Insurance Support Services. This role will collaborate intensely with internal stakeholders using a structured approach to identify business requirements and benefit delivery objectives and ensure these are ultimately delivered via agreements negotiated with external suppliers or other continuous improvement programs activities that demonstrate the value-add of Procurement across all spectrums of the source to pay process and post supplier selection governance.

  • Lead cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of strategic sourcing strategies and demand management opportunities for assigned categories of expenditure
  • Ensure sourcing strategies align with and support accomplishment of business objectives across dimensions of service, total cost, security of supply, quality, and appropriate compliance or regulatory needs
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders in the development of key supplier strategies to include cost-out initiatives 
  • Establish and meet / exceed savings and benefit delivery targets for assigned categories over an extended time frame and ensure such targets are enabled via agreed sourcing strategies and support business unit / LFG-wide cost management objectives
  • Build strategic relationships with key suppliers and work with internal stakeholders and other parties in conducting regular performance reviews to ensure LFG’s business requirements are being met
  • Regularly conduct sophisticated analysis on both the marketplace and suppliers within assigned categories of spend and leverage this information with internal clientele in developing sourcing strategies that will maximize total value
  • Prepare and present category business cases and cost models
  • Lead the negotiation of tactical and strategic (linked to broader sourcing strategies) contracts for use in multi-site locations and work intensely with LFG Legal counsel to ensure ways of working and practices are streamlined and minimize risk for LFG
  • Manage supplier contracts for assigned spend categories throughout the agreement’s lifecycle ensuring proactive management of agreement expirations, amendments / addendums, etc. aligned to category strategies
  • Participate in or lead cross-functional LFG councils, panels or communities of practice to provide ongoing governance and thought leadership around continuous improvement and compliance for strategic spend areas
  • Demonstrates a high proficiency around influencing skills and building consensus; promotes a collaborative style while ensuring project timelines and objectives are met or exceeded  
  • Provides training and development opportunities, including stretch assignments, for subordinates (if applicable) and gives honest and open feedback to aid in the development of talent.
  • Up to 20% Domestic Travel.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field plus minimum of five (5) years’ strategic sourcing or related supply chain management experience, to include demonstrated track record in driving supplier rationalization and cost-out programs in a cross functional environment Masters of Business Administration or Advanced Degree highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated use of eSourcing, spend analytics, contract management and procure to pay systems and processes and their application in developing and implementing strategic sourcing strategies in a multi-site environment  
  • Familiarity with (to include certification e.g. Green Belt) with Operational Excellence / Lean Sigma tools and processes highly desirable. 
  • In-depth and hand’s on engagement and use of Procurement systems and processes on an enterprise level
  • Intimate familiarity with the Procurement strategic sourcing process and associated foundational interdependencies (people, technology/systems including procure-to-pay, etc.)
  • Solid understanding and proven application of Operational Excellence and Lean Sigma techniques
  • Familiarity with supplier management processes and measures
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.), and Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity (CPSD) desirable
  • Excellent project, program and time management skills and techniques
  • Ability to work with and rationalize variable data from multiple data points / systems and turn same into competitive intelligence and knowledge for decision making
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with collaborative style.
  • High proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

The pay range for this position is $90,300 - $164,700 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees.  In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual.  Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
