Role at a glance:


This highly visible position is integral to establishing and maturing technology and architecture governance as a strategic capability for the enterprise. This position will provide subject matter expertise and direction on complex projects/initiatives for their assigned area(s) of architecture and technology governance responsibility. They will develop, analyze, enhance, and execute governance frameworks, processes, policies, and governance artifacts; utilizing best practices to ensure architecture and governance standards and practices are documented, communicated, and consistently applied across the company.


What you will be doing:


  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions. 
  • Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility. 
  • Identifies and directs the implementation of process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit for their assigned area(s) of responsibility. 
  • Provides subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects for their assigned area(s) of responsibility. 
  • Provides direction on complex assignments, projects, and/or initiatives to build and enhance the capability of their assigned area(s) of responsibility. 
  • Advocates continuous efforts to revitalize and redesign architecture and governance practices to improve effectiveness. 
  • Understands and considers broad implications and impacts of proposed governance implementations and designs policies and control procedures. Exercises sound judgment and involves stakeholders in decision-making.  
  • Collaborates with Enterprise Architecture and other applicable internal stakeholders, including business and technology teams, and serves as a subject matter expert to apply Lincoln architecture and technology governance policies and control procedures to stakeholders’ roles and responsibilities. 
  • Collaborates with architecture, Information Security and other risk management and governance teams to resolve policy issues, as necessary. 
  • Collaborates and interacts effectively across Enterprise Architecture, internal business lines, and IT organizations and teams as part of steady state and continuous improvement opportunity identification related to assigned area(s) of responsibility. 
  • Identifies, develops, enhances, reviews, and may direct the implementation of, processes, policies, and standards for governance and architecture practices that significantly improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit. 
  • Consults with management and appropriate stakeholders to elicit and validate complex governance requirements within assigned area(s) of responsibility. 
  • Collaborates with operational teams across the enterprise to embed architecture and technology governance methodologies, framework, standards, and metrics. 
  • Oversees enforcement of architecture and technology governance standards, policies, and procedures within their assigned area(s) of responsibility. 
  • Escalates and communicates identified complex policy (and related audit) issues or risks to management as needed. 
  • Functions as the primary point of contact for governance administration and compliance management, including policies and standards and related metrics, applicable to their assigned area of responsibility. 
  • Develops and executes plans and organizes work to ensure delivery of results. 
  • Reports status of engagements to Enterprise Architecture management, project managers, and other stakeholders as appropriate. 
  • Develops and maintains metrics across the Enterprise Architecture organization tracking progress of the organization for senior management. 
  • Performs other duties as required. 


What we're looking for:


  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) (Minimum Required) 
  • 5 – 7+ Years of experience in information technology, architecture and/or technology governance, that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position.  (Required) 
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret both internal and external documents such as general media/publications, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, policies, proposals, and standard operating procedures. 
  • Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed and logical discussions/presentations. 
  • Apply concepts such as probability, statistics, modeling, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions. 
  • Ability to analyze complex information and to evaluate the implications of a course of action or solution. 
  • Ability to interpret and apply common sense understanding to carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 
  • Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines. 
  • Agile Mindset; awareness/understanding of Agile methodologies (Preferred) 
  • Enterprise Architecture Mindset; understanding of Enterprise Architecture principles and governance concepts
