General Purpose of Job

This role will be a member of a small Finance Data Strategy team in Corporate Finance supporting Financial data environments and interfaces covering specific business areas in Finance (Investment operations, Actuarial, EPM data, Financial reporting, etc)   This senior level analyst will be responsible for cleansing, aggregating and analyzing data for specific use cases along with identifying data trends and insights.  This resource will act as one of the key process experts who understands how to standardize, manage, and advocate for best-in-class data.  Will support the Data Governance activities within Corporate Finance with relationship ties to governance resources in other areas of the business. This position will initiate and support the company's Data Governance and Data Management program throughout the organization.

What you'll be doing

o    Managing analytics projects from start to finish (data integration, analysis, reporting).
o    Working closely with the team leads to solve statistical business problems.
o    Perform assigned analysis activities related to business requirements for data environments as well as mapping analysis for source to warehouse needs.
o    Developing and coding new algorithms to meet specific business needs.
o    Carrying out statistical research, prototyping new systems, and finding new ways of gathering, cleaning, and analyzing data.
o    Managing, maintaining, data elements in assigned data environments for Finance areas
o    Consulting with internal and external teams to determine their ongoing business needs & data requirements, and to find solutions to them.
o    Ability to lead teams in researching or solving business-critical problems.
o    Support data governance initiatives 
o    Support the system of record as a "single-source of truth" for each data element; ability to manage a group discussions or individual research to resolve multiple sources of truth issues with key stakeholders via clear definitions of elements. 
o    Support management, categorization and capture of data. 
o    Cleary communicate and liaise with multiple business units and support teams across the global enterprise on complex data governance projects. 
o    Work with managers to define & manage the Data Governance Roadmap, including enterprise wide Data Quality Framework and an Information Model 
o    Facilitate bi-directional communication of strategies, priorities and issues 
o    Works with the business units to ensure data ownership and quality, and with information technology to ensure data security 
o    Champion organizational behavior change as it relates to the use of data; realizing vision of data managed as an asset
o    Work with Data Architects to ensure facilitation of consistent data quality control and optimization 
o    Work with business teams within finance to define and implement processes to assure data quality for business purposes
o    Meet with Finance teams to develop and maintain business data quality requirements and specifications
o    Independently drive intermediate to advanced metadata documentation, data lineage, data transformation rules in support of key program deliverables. 
o    Participate in the creation of data models (e.g. design and population) 
o    Perform testing and validation of requirements an/or data management capabilities 
o    Create detailed test strategies and test plans 
o    Perform complex root cause analysis and resolution of business data issues
o    Perform other duties as assigned

What we’re looking for

•    4+ years of experience in data mining, data analysis, data management, data governance, data stewardship, or data quality at a financial institution or in another highly regulated industry. (Required)
•    4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) (Minimum Required)
•    3-5 Years of experience in the Insurance Finance industry that aligns with the specific responsibilities of this position
•    Experience with SQL
•    Experience with cloud querying tools a plus
•    Working knowledge of visualization tools (tableau, PowerBI, Quicksight) 
•    Ability to understand data metadata management practices
•    Ability to clearly articulate thoughts and ideas and adjust communicate based on audience
•    Ability to leverage previous experience to consider a variety of alternative to arrive at a timely, practical and effective solution to resolve business problems.
•    Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work with business partners to design and execute priorities and project goals. 
•    Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle shifting priorities
•    Demonstrated understanding of overall data models, data relationships, mapping lineage and business rules, 
•    Strong experience with Accounting, Finance, and EPM system implementations / data

Pay Range: $87,700 - $159,900 

 

Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees.  In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual.  Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
